When the idea for the mod-coop was around I messed about with some designs for it. The way I saw it you'd go to an index page, split into the sections (ships, planets, stations, backgrounds etc...). There would be sections to login (which I think wo…

Descartes walks into a bar and buys a drink, the bartender goes "that'll be £20" to which Descartes replies "I think not!", and then he disappears.

The only two Pink Floyd songs I like, actually scrap that, the only Pink Floyd song I like is from the Syd Barret Floyd, Bike, and that's probably only because Bowie covered it. I'd rather join the army than have to listen to their 'seminal' post-sy…

Why in gods name would you want to go to London Refa?

Heh, good call, I think ''wtf'' was the first thought in my head when I finished it. There's two chapters of a sequel he attempted to write in ''The Shifting Realities of Philip K. Dick'', worth checking out as it contains a lot of unrelased idea…

Why pay for wine though? Just use the current build, install dcom95 (http://download.microsoft.com/msdownload/dcom/95/x86/en/dcom95.exe) and away you go!

No links sorry, but I can vouch that it works. Install it using the current wine (nearly at 1.0.. woot!) and it'll run pretty damn well. There's a few issues with some fonts in a few warning windows, but that's minor.
Originally posted by Biggles They work pretty well with the version of wine that the crossover office people supply, apparently.
Lightwave 8 runs pretty flawlessly using the latest wine aswell.

What's difficult to move? Shouldn't be more than a db dump, few path changes and then... EDIT: the admin thing should be easy to move anyway...

If I were you I'd change it to -O2, and set some LDFLAGS in your make.conf aswell. O3 didn't seem to produce a significant enough performance boost for all the binary bloat produced.

Should have gone Creative.
Originally posted by Biggles I thought they didn't make it.
They did. Bioware made Knights 1.
Originally posted by Mr. Fury To tell you the truth, I've been considering linux support, but it's not quite on-par with Windows executables stability wise and most likely even got quite a lot of more problems. It would be a pai…

I saw your post on TBP, I actually think it would be better to just distrubte the data in an archive, and link seperatly to either pre-compiled binaries or the source code. Something like autopackage (http://www.autopackage.org/) would al…

Fair enough, you wouldn't object to someone making and hosting a linux version of it though would you? The whole fs2_open project seems to be very linux unfriendly on the whole though, I couldn't find a recent source tarball (the ones I could fin…

Hey PSI-Killer, can you take my profilling test? Please pause a moment, reflect back, and take the following multiple choice test. The events are actual cuts from past history. They actually happened!!! Do you remember? 1. In 1972, Bloody…

You know what would make your project even better? Zip files. I hate having to use wine to install it because you distribute it as an exe file, BAD BAD BAD!

I'm glad you've just mentioned the plain clothes part, as I was just about to. If some guy in a white t-shirt and jeans pulls a gun on you, and then shouts at you to stop, what would you do? CHEESE IT!
