Sweet, just read that too. Wonder if SG-1 will loose any more castmembers along the way.
Actually, i just read somewhere that Claudia Black is joining the regular cast...

Crap, you just beat me to it. http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire2005/index.php?id=33347
That was obvious. I always thought she would end up replacing Amanda Tapping.
Oh god no. SG-1 needs to DIE. It's lost everything. It's done. It's finished. Ugh.
IMHO they should have "canceled" it before the ninth season and made the current episodes under a new name...
I think the big problem that many people have the "new" SG-1 is that it's different from the show they've grown to love over the course of the last 8 seasons...

They actually considered doing that. The new name was going to be "Stargate Command" (hence, Walter's line at the end of the teaser of the first episode of season 9, "Welcome to Stargate Command").

SG-1 was created by Brad Wright and Jonathan Glassner. Now only Brad Writght is still on the show, Jonathan Glassner left somewhere around S3, if i remember correctly.
T'ealc and Carter were created for SG-1, O'Neill and Daniel were in the movie.
If they'd put any of the SG-1 members, that were created for it, as regulars in a new show, they'd have to pay Mr. Glassner royalties for it. That's why in the Atlantis pilot only O'Neill and Daniel were present.
As guest stars later it's not that big a deal, it's just one episode they have to pay for...
