I dunno where else to post it and A2597 says you gots some good computer guru's hanging around here :D
Time Warner's Road Runner High Speed service is nice an' all but they have something done that prevents me from using nearly any webserver program  Its really annoying cause I usually host it as a temperary way to send files and use for remote desktop to a extent. Not to mention full customizability and the ability to use CGI, PHP, and anything else I choose to install... I was able to host with my 56k ISP and its getting annoying...
Anyone know how to fix it or a good alternate solution? -.-

This means I have to direct people to the new port via:
http://IP:81/ method? :( phooey :-/
Thanks though. The server DOES work when I move the port to 79 or 81 or such...

Make sure you read their AUP, If they expressly forbid you running a webserver or other server (which seems likely if they block the ports) and you go ahead and run one anyway, they will most likely just kill your account,
Most of the big companies will just pull your account with no warning if you break their AUP. So be careful even trying to hide it on a nonstandard port.
Just so you know, there are quite a few ISPs that "don't ask, don't tell" policy. (ie: they don't like it, but will let you run one as long as it doesn't eat up a buttload of bandwith and they "don't know about it".
There are also many ISP's that just flat out allow you to do it. My ISP could care less what i run on my end, as long as i pay my bill on time.
Otherwise, Cablevision is run by monkeys. And thankfully, this is a bunch of blind, deaf, and numb monkeys.
Optimum Online used to be just like that, but a few nasty worms came along and made them block port 80. For a while, port 8080 was open, but they ended up blocking that too because of another worm that came along :D

Don't even get me started on cablevision....
"Thank You For Chosing Cablevision as your cable television provider"
(As opposed to what, static?)
