Is this worth improving?

This was originally a test scenario, but I kept adding stuff to it. I could clean it up and release it, but is it worth the effort?

    Yeah, go for it, we need more missions to keep people interested and this is a good one, but one thing I will say about this, and any other missions we do is we need voices. This is simply because flying while reading is supremely hard!
    Also another thing I noticed that needs attention is the dynamics of the fighting- it's almost impossible to hit anything, so it could be that we need to scale everything up as you originally suggested, or maybe we could shorten the ranges of the guns and increase the accuracy- I don't know. I'll have a look at this after I finish the Tinashi, which is nearly complete.

    FLUX was designed to work with ships that maneuver slower than B5 ships, that can't travel as fast as b5 ships, are larger than b5 ships, and have different weapons than b5 ships, making our job a bit difficult. if we DON'T change fighter scales (WHICH I TOTALLY RECOMMEND NOT CHANGING) we'll have to increase weapon bolt speeds. the reason i'm against the scaling is b/c we'd have to scale up EVERYTHING ELSE... especially ships that launch fighters (as they'd no longer fit thru the launch bays... and if they did would look WAY too big). and if we scale up other ships, we're gonna run into the turret/sound disapperance with ALOT ALOT more ships

    Aye, I'm with you- I'd prefer to find another way, but when it comes down to it it's the gameplay that matters more than anything else.

    If you increase bolt speed, you'll be able to hit targets, but space combat isn't much fun anymore since ships get destroyed beyond visual range. It makes those detailed fighters kinda pointless since you'll never actually see them. As for scaling, if we choose to do that there is no need to scale up capital ships. Fighters in many games are off-scale, including EOC and I-War plus we had off-scale fighters in v1.0 and it looked good. Problems only occur, like you said, when launching and even then, I doubt it. In combat, you can't really compare them with capships since you never know if its right next to it or a little way off. Btw, I don't think there is even a need for a large size increase. I thought that hitting the raiders was difficult, but the larger drakh ships were much easier targets.

    One alternative is to decrease ship speeds, but this makes everything sluggish, although it is more realistic. I tried it in a test scenario, but it wasn't very good for gameplay.

    We can increase bolt speed without increasing the range by altering the half life of the bolts... It all needs some tweaking and investigation, which I shall have a go at when I finish the Tinashi (which should be soon- I've just got to add the systems).

    Also, i dunno what to say about the gameplay thing... i know increasing weapon bolt speed produces more hits, as i've done it be4.... i just... dunno

    I agree with the others, its worth it.

    Just remeber at least add objectives that can be viewd by player in 'objectives' screen (as with any other mission that is to be released). And those Drakh are [b]murder[/b]. You don't even know what hit you when you die. :)

    Thanks for the offer dude, but I need the practise in getting weapons effects right :)

    As for bolt speed, we have to see what it's like- as I said I'll investigate this when I finish ye olde Tinashi (after having a big problem last night I should finish it tonight with some luck).

    definately worth improving...
    however i'd like to make a point i've probably made be4...... KEEP THE WEAPON ARCS AT 45 degrees!!!!! someone keeps setting them at 5 and it's annoying. you want a chance to kill the enemy, so leave the arc wider, especially on fighter guns... this 5 degree arc is almost impossible... anyways, that's all for my rant, lol
