Markab plague

Did we ever find out whether the Draffa that killed the Markab was related to the Shadows? I mean, a virus that's 100% contageous, 100% deadly, is almost impossible to analyze (Franklin only found a workaround, remember, he never found the agent itself) showed up some time in the past, then showed up again immediately before the final Shadow War... sounds like a rather odd coincidence, no?

    No, the virus was not a complex as the shadow plague.
    In fact, the virus that wiped out the Markab is similar in mechanism to existing viruses today.

    The shadow virus is something else, but you have to watch the last episode of crusade to find out just how weird it is...

    Perhaps the shadows were involved in that plague aswell,read somewhere that the Markab were involved in the great war along side the minbari and others.Perhaps the shadows popped in a different virus to them as revenge .:confused:

    I think the virus was in there more to illustrate the fact that it is possible for such a thing to exist, and that just because it's the future, that doesn't mean medical science can cure anything like it can in Star Trek.

    Also a morality tale about the dangers of ignoring the problem.

    Also, also, a social commentary on the AIDS epidemic which was still fairly new back when this was first airing.
