Sheridan's facial hair

Is it just me, or does John Sheridan seem to have a bit of a fickle attitude regarding his facial hair?
I was just browsing through the old B5games site and took a look at the cast list for Into the Fire, and I noticed that in the prerelease photos, Sheridan was clean-shaven.
He was also baby faced in War Without End's flashforward.
Now I know the real reason for this is that Boxlightner hated the beard but JMS liked it, so he probably shaved the damned thing off the minute the wrap party ended, but, still, for a character so decisive, it seems odd he couldn’t pick a shaving schedule.
Consider:
2259-2261: Clean shaven (seasons 2-4)
2262: Goateed. (season 5)
2263-2264: Clean shaven (Into the Fire)
2267: bearded (and gray as a mule!) (A Call to Arms)
2277: Clean shaven (War Without End)
2282: Bearded (and less gray than in ACTA!) (Sleeping in Light)
Okay, what's the B5 explanation? Did something happen while Sheridan was being interrogated that gave him a love-hate relationship with his razor? Does shaving give him a rash he's only willing to put up with at specific times? Is it Delenn who can't decide whether she likes the whiskers, with poor John caught in the middle?
Weigh in your opinion!

LOL, well, if that was the case, it would have certainly the ACTA time when he dyed his beard (white-ish) so that it would make him look even wiser.
As for 2282... have a look at him in SIL: He was probably way too lazy, this guy almost seems to die away in the show...
Ouch.

I don't know about that, I can think of at least 2 other important men in her life (Dukhat, Draal) who had facial hair

they eat Spoo and Flarn.
Is that a devilishly tricky name for something... unkosher?
[B]minbari arn't vegitarians...

I'm not sure if we've ever seen a Minbari eating Spoo, and I don't think anyone is sure what Flarn is, beyond "very salty".

Well, I'm not sure if Spoo is kosher or not. I'm not Jewish, and I'm not sure I want to hunt through the Old Testament in the family Bible to... oh, wait, you didn't mean that literally, did you? Oh.
Spoo (Oops spelled backwards) is the most popular crossover food in the known galaxy (Swedish Meatballs don't count because each race developed them independently (or, as someone once suggested, with some "help" from the Vorlons:vorlon:, in a harebrained scheme to unite the Galaxy through culinary unity)). Every race loves Spoo (especially the Centauri), even the Pak'ma'ra, who say they don't, just to be contradictory, and get their supply from the Black Market (some humans have been known not to enjoy Spoo. Upon his first taste of it, one remarked, "The Centauri love this stuff? Man, no wonder their hair stands straight up!" and another said "It doesn't taste like chicken.")
What is Spoo? A Spoo is huge earthworm-like creature, about twenty feet long, who get their name from the sighing sound they make, especially in times of stress (during harvest time, many a Spoo farmer has had to get professional help because of depression caused from exposure to these sighs). They are very slow (six inches a year is rushing), and very docile. Two hundred Spoo can be put on a Spoo farm and left on their own, and they will not require any maintenance or anything of the kind, making them easy cash-creatures.
Spoo is served in pasty white (or light blue, depending on who you ask) cubes, that have been cooked at something like 60¼ C. Raw Spoo is considered a delicacy by the Narn, but not by anyone else, as raw Spoo has the eggs of the male, which are poisonous when not sterilized by cooking, so raw Spoo has the unfortunate tendency to cause races other than the Narn to, um, die.
There. That's everything you ever wanted to know about Spoo but were afraid to ask.
