Headset Utility

RhettRhett (Not even a monkey)
Hey everybody. I was wondering what you would recommend if I wanted to get a headset utility (you know, the kind for internet games-specifically for coordinating attacks and movement in Natural Selection). It would need to be USB and pretty easily transported (USB becuase the handy ports that are in the front of the PC make it easy to use back and forth at different houses). I don't need great quality (obviously, because I am just playing on the net) and price IS a factor. Thanks for your help.

Well, I'm not quite sure what you're talking about.

It might be the Microsoft Gamevoice, but I don't know for sure. Please explain what you mean by coordinating.

If you mean for just talking back and forht, you can get some good, cheap software that does it. I rather like the older, free versions of Roger Wilco, myself.

Sorry Long day of school. I just need it for chating back and forth. I would rather have it attached to my head than a tradition mic that sits on a table and you speak into it. Hope that clears something up (first and last time I try to explain something at school )

The gamevoice would do, but the software also works fine.

There's something called Microsoft Gamevoice Share. It's free, and it works fine.

Also, Windows Messenger has great voice support.

The Gamevoice device is pretty neat, but you can get software to do the same job. Then you just go get a basic headphone/mic headset from a computer store.

For software I'd recommend Teamspeak. I haven't used it myself, but I've heard that it's great and better than Roger Wilco, which I've heard isn't all that good.

For headset I think any basic headset is good enough. I'm going to buy one soon myself too because of games.

I just bought a Gamevoice thingiamajig today... Headphones are great, considering I have constant complaints about the noise, and the Mic is good because... [barrywhite]now people all across the net can hear my sexy voice[/barrywhite]...

And also, voice command software coupled with Bridge commander is something of beauty...
