Need help with first image (Blender)

OK I've encounterd a snag with my work, and need some help.
I'm getting lines on all my spheres, and I don't know why. I didn't use to, but all of a suppen there they are. If you look at the image below, and look at the planets, you'll see lines running across them. Why are they there, and how do I get rid of them?

BTW the B5blender site isn't working too well, tons of dead links (and just when I need it too [img]http://forums.firstones.com/forums/frown.gif[/img] )
