I have finally done my first pic after learning the ins and outs of blender. Texture mapping, lighting(color and brightness), and using a backround in the worlds setting. I'd really like to post the picture but I don't have a url. If you'd like I can e-mail it to you. I think it came out pretty well for a first render. It's the Narn Frazi fighter from Nadab Goksu. I converted it using the 3D exploration program along with the texture maps. I'm really glad I finally figured out how to put multiple texture maps on a single area of the model. I also understand why you found it so frustrating to learn, but if I can turn out these kinds of pictures I'd say it was worth it!

And since you have no quarels about joining forces, I will gladly assist you in learning more about the software. Also, you'll never guess how I did the motion blur. [img]http://www.firstones.com/forums/biggrin.gif[/img] [img]http://www.firstones.com/forums/biggrin.gif[/img] [img]http://www.firstones.com/forums/biggrin.gif[/img] Since I don't know how to do motion blur in blender yet, I took the image into MS Photoshop, and used smudge on certain areas. Pretty good huh? Ok it was sneaky but it looks convincing. As far as future projects go I will have to use another computer, because mine doesn't like the program, and the one I used for those images can't handle the larger models. I'm already taking care of the problem though. As far as sharing information though I really would be interested in joining forces, along with anyone else who wants to help. The only problem with the image you've shown is that the light source isn't on the right area of the model according to the backround, a minor problem. I don't think it detracts from the image any though. Well I think I've rambled on long enough. Thanks for posting the image, and keep in touch. Just e-mail me whenever. regester at Geocities.com, then, find WSFTP (Any search will turn it up) DL the older version, the WSFTP Pro is shareware. [img]http://www.firstones.com/forums/smile.gif[/img]
At geocities, look in Help for FTP users, it will tell you how to set up an account. Next, fire up WSFTP and upload any images to your online directory. then enter your site, and goto that image, copy the URL, and post it here! [img]http://www.firstones.com/forums/biggrin.gif[/img]
