My favorite line (as far as I can think at such a state of tiredness, is that a word, ok enough stream of conciousness) is the one in my sig by G'Kar. I think that is my favorite...

------------------
"Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future, or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain." G'Kar, Season 3

Marcus: You know, I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe

and theirs this one

Londo Mollari: What do you want, you moon-faced assassin of joy?

and this one

Lorien: The universe began with a word. But which came first: the word or the thought behind the word? You can't create language without thought, and you can't conceive a thought without language, so which created the other, and thus created the universe?

and this one

Emperor Cartagia (to Londo Mollari): The trouble with being infallible is that you have to deal with everyone else making mistakes

and this one

Captain Sheridan: Bester.
Bester: Captain Sheridan.
Captain Sheridan: Get the hell out of my chair
• hmmm...*think*

G'Kar: Not many fishies...left in the sea...not many fishies...just Londo and me..."

Londo: "SHUT UP! CAN ANYONE HEAR ME?!?"

G'Kar: "I hear you! hehehe."

---------------------------

Londo: "Me, and my Shaaaadow, stroling down the av-a-nue..."

---------------------------

Sheridan: "Ivonova! How many times to I have to tell you? Always take the jacket!"

Ivonova: "Sorry, I ment stripped naked and thrown out an airlock"

• Marcus: "The next time you want a revelation...could you find a way that is less..uncomfortable?"

The Questions of Lorien:
Who are you, what do you want, why are you here, do you have anything worth living for?

ooo there are sooooo many quotes......I hope all 5 seasons make it to DVD..

Slightly off topic, one of my favorite moments in B5 season 1 is the day of celebrating the different religions of the races..and then the end of that episode..very powerful.

• I was thinking which was my favourite line going through my head not thinking of anything until I reminded myself that I often every now and then go through the Lady of the dead Centauri emperor's monologue from Points of No Return (?):

Greatness is never appreaciated in youth. Called pride in mid-life. Dismissed in old age and reconsidered in death. Because we cannot tolerate greatness in our midst we do all we can to destroy it.

And from The Coming of Shadows(the Emperor):

The past tempts, the present confuses us and the future frightens us. And our lives slip away in the vast moment of in-between.

Not a smart-ass oneliner as I would have liked to have said but something that makes my mind ponder from time to time..

------------------
"Now, we gave you a promise and we are bound by that promise and damn you for asking for it! And damn me for agreeing to it! And damn all of us to hell, because that's exactly where we're going! We talked about peace. You didn't want peace. We talked about cooperation. You didn't want cooperation. You want war! Is that it? You want a war? Well you've got a WAR!"

My favorite is from G'Kar, not a smart ass one, but full of insight.

If I take a lamp and shine it toward a wall, a bright spot will appear on the wall. The lamp is our search for truth, for understanding. Too often, we assume that the light on the wall is God. But the light is not the goal of the search. It is the result of the search. The more intense the search, the brighter the light on the wall. The brighter the light on the wall, the greater the sense of revelation upon seeing it.
Similarly, someone who does not search, who does not bring a lantern with him...sees nothing. (He sighs in frustration) What we perceive as God is the byproduct of our search for God. It may simply be an appreciation of the light, pure and unblemished, not understanding that it comes from us. Sometimes we stand in front of the light and assume that we are the center of the universe. God looks astonishingly like we do. Or we turn to look at our shadow and assume that all is darkness. If we allow ourselves to get in the way, we defeat the purpose, which is to use the light of our search to illuminate the wall in all its beauty...and all its flaws...and in so doing better understand the world around us.

Of course, I've always liked Londo's story of his first wife from that same episode.
