If it is a game, I just hope it will be something good and not a cheap cash-in/attempt to keep us quiet.
Anyone remember the Starship Troopers game? It looks promising and was cancelled, then they released some bug filled 3D RTS game to make some money of the license before it expired.

Don't think it's a game...since JMS said that WB didn't see any reason for a B5 game when there already was a freeware B5 game.
But IF it has something with a game to do: (everything below is wild guesses, which most likely is just my mind who make up strange thoughts...)
Since WB doesn't see any reason to make a B5 game, maybe they have arranged a deal with "Space Dream Factory", so that B5: IFH will be getting an "license" or something so that the game will be officially supported by WB.
A coincidence that this announcement is coming close(?) to the release of the B5: IFH demo? maybe not...
(It can also have something to do with this http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/Forum1/HTML/004746.html )
The best would be that WB has managed to get Sierra to release the code for B5: ITF to the public.

And look at the rumours fly!
It wasn't WB who looked at the mods and decided not to make a game, it was other companies. WB want a game. They want a good game to take advantage of their license and compete with Star Trek.
So, you never know what it might be, but it could be a game.

This is pretty amazing news. There were two other companies that wanted to make a B5 sim but decided
they didn't want to compete with IFH?? That seems very odd. First off, there wouldn't have to
BE a IFH if those extremely unreasonable people at Sierra would just have finished B5:ItF
or let Sector 14 finish the game!
I seriously hope that WB has gotten Sierra to release the rights to all the Babylon 5: Into the Fire
assets so that a good company with top-notch programmers (I don't trust Sierra to make the game
right since they lost all their B5:ItF team members) can finish the game with a greatly enhanced
graphics engine (while keeping all the awesome planned features of B5:ItF intact).
The best possible situation would be to have Sector 14 finish the game. They deserve it for their
dedication, and they would do the best job by far, they've been with the game since the beginning.
All of that wonderful real live Babylon 5 video footage and the no-doubt great story (which
I assume JMS wrote, at least in part, or advised on?) can NOT go to waste.
I'm all excited now, first we get confirmation on the Babylon 5 DVD's and now maybe an announcement
that B5:ItF will be completed?! It's going to be a long wait until after the 12th...
Happy Independence Day to all of my fellow Americans!
If it was a game, then he must have been refering to us.
Also, there maybe lots of Babylon 5 fans but that doesn't make them all gamers. The Firstones are a small part of the Babylon 5 community that have become well known because of the fight we put up to get the game.

Babylon 5 - Into the Fire
Warner Brothers are excited to announce that the highly anticipated Babylon 5 - Into the Fire will be completed and should be in stores by Christmas 2002. The original materials have been released by Vivendi and given to THX Interactive, who will continue production on the game until it is complete.
Due to the current level of PC technology, the game will now be released on the Gameboy Advanced, a system we are pleased to be able to publish for and that we think is idealy suited to bringing the Babylon 5 universe to life. In order for the game to fit on a standard cartridge, all the video scenes that featured original cast members from the series have been replayed by our revolutionary new cartoon graphics engine that allows us to create all the Babylon 5 characters in astonishing two dimensional detail.
The space combat element has had to be scaled down in order for the game to be released in time for Christmas but players can still look forward to flying their favourite Starfury fighter from a top down perspective, play through 5 intense missions against Earth Alliance Forces, Minbari, Aardvarks and Shadows.
The game will be available on the 18th of December 2002.
