Yeah. His comic's good but the guy himself seems a bit stuck up.

---Well, I guess that's the real measure of success...not how many people read it, but how many KEEP reading it.

That's true. Getting people to go look is easy, but getting them to keep coming back requires skill.

Ironically, I've stopped purchasing PC Gamers: I just lost interest and doesn't feel like spending money on it. I stopped reading PvP during X-mas because I went home, and haven't picked it back up sense.

I never bothered with game magasines at all. Originally, I couldn't afford them. But now I just can't be bothered with all the sensationalism in them.

---Problem with game magazines is that most of the reviews are written by spoiled kids who wouldn't know a good game if it snuck up on them in the shower.
Oh, how I long for the days of "Boot Magazine"
That was the best, and then it was changed into "Maximum PC"
Hell, even Maximum PC Was fine for a while, but that degraded fast. Boot was constant goodness. The writers were not against truly dissing a piss-poor game, nor were they biased against hardware. They gave a great review, and had two amazing annual sections: "Gear of the Year" and "Dream System of ####", both of which were very well written.
After the conversion of Boot, along came another magazine, one filled with much computing goodness: PC Accelerator.
This didn't last long. In Imagine Media's eyes, it was borderline indecent for much of its run. It was all about girls, booze, and games, and they showed it! Hell, one time, they had a nine-or-so page article on the effects of alcohol on simulated driving, and how much damage would happen. Just trust me when I say it was hilarious! I might get a few scans of the mag and pop them onto my web server someday. Same for Boot.
Here's something fun: PCXL was a big Babylon 5 fan. They were one of the few publications who really showed how much they were looking forward to it, unlike PC Gamer, who ignored it (save one or two articles).
Following the death of PCXL, an attempt was made to create a publication based on the same style: Incite! Sadly, this failed miserably as it was (a) expensive, (b) less outgoing than PCXL, and (c) had "immitation" written all over it. During their short existence, they did nothing original. PCXL had originality peeling off of its spine (and I really mean that. the word "originality" did indeed peel off the spine of one of mine )
It's just so sad that I'm only left with PC Gamer and Computer Gaming World. I would die for a better selection! All I demand is freedom of content, and damn good, unbaised reviews. Thankfully, CGW Makes a break from the norm every so often, and does indeed avoid some of the reviewing habits PCG gets into, but it still lacks flavor.
*sigh*
