You can get to the old Sierra site by replacing the FirstOnes address with the IP address of the forums.
IMO, you just need to sort a few major issues first.
PROBLEM:==>You have white links against a white background in your main content area.
RESOLUTION:==>You need to use CSS to allow you to have different colored links on the page. In general I would suggest you remove all the font tags used throughout the site and replace with CSS.
PROBLEM:==>You are using too many fonts. You have Serpentine, Arial and Times New Roman.
RESOLUTION:==>Make all your text on the page (links etc) use either Arial OR Times New Roman. Obviously the Serpentine for the B5 images stays. I would go for Arial/San-Serif.
PROBLEM:==>The header box for your news boxes needs the end images adjusted.
RESOLUTION:==>The bottom corner images on each side of the box with the headlines in them needs rounding and transparency set.
The rest here are stylistic opinions...
I would lose the .Plan headline in your margin. It lost its point years ago and is only there to remind people the site was once connected to a game. They can find that out by reading the history (if they didn't already know).
In general your menu is a bit bunched up. Try a bit of space between each section to give it breathing room. Might want to try moving it all up a line or 2.
The headlines in the main content boxes should be centred vertically. (valign="middle")
The space to the right of the main logo is looking way too lonely, like it needs something in there. How about a link to the forums or something?
Finally, at the risk of inviting a flamewar, I think the site needs just a bit more color in it. Ignoring the Amazon stuff, which you cannot see unless you scroll, the site has 4 colors, light blue, lighter blue, black and white. I think just a few more colors and the site is a winner.
When you fix the white links in the content boxes, I would suggest you let them revert to the default navy and purple. I would also change either the logo OR the menu heading images so they are on maybe a different colored background or are bevelled/raised or something. I think Logos need to be different to other stuff on the site so it is not diminished. given that you already have the forum logos in the same style, perhaps changing the menu headings is the way to go. How about Changing the striped background colors to grays to give a chrome effect and redoing the words in another color.
Finally, if you guys need a hand with the CSS stuff - or anything else, I will happily "fix" the page and email the stuff to you. I do this stuff for a living so it won't take long...
Keep up the faith.

looks nice... a few nitpickings, though, but those have already been mentioned.
one big thing: i don´t know for what browser versions in mind you designed the site, but with Netscape 4.78 (on a macintosh, that is), the site is totally screwed up (the corners for the news-areas are missing, the news table doesn´t wrap the text, and the tables are not aligned left, but differ left and right) - might be an css issue with that browser version - maybe its time to stop using it... within IE5, the site works basically, but the top corners of the news-text areas are cut off. only within Netscape 6.2 the site looks correct (but that one´s also the slowest browser, at leat on classic macos... not much fun for me surfing the net)
I really like the new design. The one main complaint (which everyone has mentioned)is the black backgroud. It really looks odd. Otherwise, it looks really good. Good job!

Yes, the layout indeed is screwed in Netscape 4.78, but in IE it looks fine.
And btw, white background of the news items is EVIL and makes my eyes hurt. Replace it with something less bright so that the contrast won't be that horrible.

That is so wrong it deserves a merciless assault with a wet fish Netscape 6 is absolutely superb at CSS. I think you are confusing it with Netscape 4, which was truly woeful. The 2 products share a name and little else.
"Most of the sites on-line, at least 70% of them, are geared towards IE rather than Netscape."
Precisely and that needs to change. The reality is that making a site that works well in all the major browsers at the moment is now very easy. The real issue is that most sites need to be upgraded and this is where people find it more convenient to mutter those words "Netscape is dead". Saves them having to discover how to write standards compliant code.
I Use Netscape 6.2.1 and Mozilla all the time and more importantly I write code for web sites that works in them. I check in Netscape 4 to make sure its legible and doesn't crash the browser.
Checkout nomad-Jedi to see this and to see that you can create a site with reasonably advanced layout and advanced DHTML that works perfectly in IE and Netscape 6.

Hmm....I believe you are correct. I am thinking about 4.7. However, Netscape 6.x does not handle a lot of things right. I was a web designer before I bemcame a web hosting provider. I still do a little web design here and there. However, Netscape 6.x still has a lot of trouble trying to decode advanced components...even CSS sometimes.

I think it will work, but that white text area against a black background is killing my eyes...Any way to tone it down a bit?
I don't know if it will work, bbut agree that it might need to be toned down. BTW, I do remember reading that the easiest color combination on the eyes and the easiest to read is yellow text on a black background. Imagine that.

I can tell you're a Netscape advocate so I'm not going to argue about it. =)
I'm not commenting on this subject anymore. =)
