Building a puppy cam

My husband and I just got a dog. He begged me to set up a webcam so he can check in on her while we are at work. I put an ip camera ap on my old android phone. The simple solution would be to just use its web interface, but my home network doesn't have the up bandwidth to do more than one or two views.





What I would like to do is have my phone push the video stream to my vps, which the vps will then serve to any viewers. I do not know how to do this and am soliciting any suggestions!





Also, any tips on getting a 4 year old dog over her separation anxiety?

    Write a script that pulls the latest image from the webcam's web interface using Curl and puts it in a directory that your VPS serves (it shouldn't need to be more than a few lines). Set that script to be run by cron at a suitable interval.
