Telepaths and Love

So I was eating breakfast this morning, thinking about Ivanova and Talia (what else?) and then some inconsistencies hit me. Remember when Lyta and Byron were together, Lyta's memories "exploded" all over the place, even her deepest darkest secrets? If Ivanova was with Talia, wouldn't she risk having Talia know about her latent status?

    So it's pretty much supposed to be that Talia could feel something that Ivanova wanted to keep hidden, and respected her enough to not go there. It's true that they're both telepaths, but Ivanova was weaker, so maybe that means it wouldn't have worked the same way?
    By the way, it was also mentioned back in the first season about telepaths having sex and seeing all of eachother's thoughts and secrets and everything, and then in the fifth season is when we finally get to see what that's about.
