It sounds like Star Trek Online with battlestars but I have a hard time seeing that work with BSG's setting.

I still want to develop a full-on space combat sim set in the universe. Part of my grand plans to create a space sim house that caters to several different IPs (BSG, Star Wars, Wing Commander, etc). Still trying to figure out how to make that happen.
A trip down computer game history...
I played last night and I didn't think it was that bad, it reminded me of Freelancer. The control system seems ok and will need a bit of time getting used to it.
Overall I think it might be good.
While I thought the graphics looked decent enough, actual flight and combat were ridiculously stupid, poorly planned and somehow carried out worse than I ever imagined. Your guns just auto fire?? How could they get this wrong? Its one of the most simple concepts of every space based game going back to Elite, Spaced invaders and Fucking Asteroids! I want to decide when my ship fires it weapons. I don't want to click a target and just blow through a 1000 rounds of ammo. Where is the skill in that?
Sure, you can toggle autofire, but its not the same as being in control over your ships weapons.
Major fail.
Otherwise, no joystick support, silly system to get missions, just an otherwise poor attempt to capitalize on the Galactica name.
