    Watched the whole game (7) and really gave a damn who'd win the series. Of course there were two Finns on the other side, but I thought it was Penguins' time to win (after they lost the series last year to the same opponent). Congrats.

    i saw something about this. The Penguins, shown here holding the cup, offered some player a big contract to stay with the team last year, but he thought this other team (the team who won the cup last year, and lost this year to the Penguins) would give him a better shot at a title. So he signed a 1 year contract with the other team.

    The end result was he personally was not a factor in the playoffs this year, and his new team lost the cup game to his old team.

    If you add to this post, that they went on strike a few years ago, have a relatively poor following for a pro sport, are in desperate need of a new tv contract deal, and that some idiot commissioner allowed to schedule two important playoff games at the same time. This post now contains all of the knowledge I have about the sport of hockey.

    A bunch of people carrying big sticks and running around a field after a very small, dense, hard ball. It's quite entertaining, because you can wack people with the sticks and they don't have any protection other than (occasionally) shinpads.

    But perhaps you meant [i]ice[/i] hockey... :p
