    Apart from the foot pedals (they had to make budget cuts somewhere), this prototype looks very much mass-production-ready.

    The only problem I have with it is that you still need to drive to an airport to take off. I see very little convenience here. You'll still be stuck in a traffic jam, just less comfortably so compared to a regular car. :D

    As far as I'm concerned I think they are going down the wrong path. A flying car isn't for people who are too lazy to climb out of their car and switch to their aircraft. What the public really wants, is something like a [URL="http://www.flickr.com/photos/uncle_el/3294753678/"]Spinner[/URL] as seen in [I]Blade Runner[/I]. Anything else is just a toy or in this case, an awkward looking plane.

    Flying cars present more problems than anything else. Were still a long way off on some pretty simple technologies for flying cars. Noise for one thing. Ever been in a small Cessna aircraft. LOUD!!! Its like driving on the autobahn in a convertible with the top down. We need better noise dampening.

    Then of course there is the whole "How do we regulate, monitor and keep track of millions of flying cars?".

    needless to say, Im content with my vehicle being earth bound for the time being.

    Repulsor lifts are still a concept of sci-fi as far as I know. I played around with it and... well... lots of money wasted on large magnets and electronics. When someone or I can figure out how to make a single pole magnet... might have a big step towards repulsors.
