The lighting choices are green, blue, red and pink. I can't use green as it would cause havok with any shot where the viewscreen in the background is visible (it's green too). Red is good when everyone is on alert but not everyday situations and pink...yeah let's not go there.
Episode 6 is here.
Callista and Stingray are in it this time.
The series isn't getting that many hits, if anyone could spread the word a bit, I'd be very grateful :)
I like where this is going. A little mystery here, a little intrigue there. :)
The exaggerated barefoot walking sound effect is putting a smile on my face. :D
Your sims also just love to use their keyboards. If you'd told me that we'll conquer the universe armed with standard PC keyboards, I would have laughed in your face. :D
Really nice job though. :) You mentioned using FSX in your credits, I'll have to watch it again to see where exactly. Could it be the view onto the prison facility?
I've downloaded a bunch of additional aircraft that can be used in FSX and I'm checking them out one after the other. Some people have done quite amazing work.
The FS Global 2008 add-on is nice, hi-res world map textures and realistic elevation topology make the world look even better.
The aircraft power pack includes some crazy German designs. Not sure if they made any difference, but they sure made for some interesting flying. :D
Your bonus video, is that one of those "deleted" scenes bit? :D
Biggles<font color=#AAFFAA>The Man Without a Face</font>
Thanks for the tip! I looked at the screenshots for FS Global 2008, went to Tokyo, bought a copy, and now my home city is no longer a flat smudge in the middle of the ocean. :D
You are welcome. I bought the global add-on as treat for having waited so long to get the FSX gold edition. It makes the whole experience that much more fun when you can actually recognize some of the terrain features.
We are still far off a realistic rendition of the world, but it's getting better with every new iteration.

At hgh altitudes, it's already pretty amazing.
I'll probably break down and get their improved Europe scenery at some point. It has a lot of stuff FS Global doesn't have. I also find it amusing that someone there has an obvious thing for the Southern Alps. :D
Wow, so I thought I had posted about the remake here. I guess not.
Last year I remade all of this, instead of The Sims 2, I moved on to Moviestorm, which produces much better results. It also gave me the opportunity to design my own ships and create a more detailed scifi world.
You can find all of Season 1 here and so you know what you're getting into, there's a trailer too.
What I originally revived this thread for was to talk about season two! It's coming along, all of the ship models from season one have been upgraded and a whole bunch of new ones have been designed as well. I thought I'd show them off :)

Nice job, Worf. Are you going for the Blade Runner style? :)
The renders could use a bit more light, they are a bit hard to appreciate that way. I didn't even see the guns on the fighter before SD mentioned them. ;)
I just checked out the Moviestorm site and it seems like a nice piece of software, but then it's not really priced with hobbyists in mind. There is a student version though. I guess nothing worth doing is cheap. :D
Fortunately, I don't have the means for yet another hobby at this time, so it's not even a dilemma.

That station looks pretty cool. It gives the impression of having grown bit-by-bit rather than having been designed.

That may be true but is it realistic? Even B5 looks very much designed even though it's the 5th attempt of building a station in this particular area of space. ;)
Biggles is correct, the station is supposed to have been expanded over time. It's not really fair to compare it to B5 because this station is over a century old.
Each planet has a different style, Earth is overpopulated and heavily poluted. This look was exactly what I had in mind for London, the city has expanded to cover most of the country.
Random ChaosActually Carefully-selected Order in disguise
You mean it now covers all of France? ;) ;) ;)

What does that have to do with it? B5 wasn't expanded bit-by-bit over time, it was designed up-front.
Only the central part of Crossroads Station is the original design but as more and more ships and people passed through the place, they needed to expand it :)
Season two is almost complete, a few more shots needed for episode 6 of 8 and then I can get on to the sound editing

I guess it's the low polygons of the blue aura that are hurting the visuals. Not sure how much control you have over that.
Nice job on the last episode.

I can't say what Worf was going for, it's all up to him after all, maybe it's another take of the unfinished look of the SW Death Star? :)
B5 was designed up front but the modularity is on the inside, the core section allows for some randomness and growth.
