Sarah Connor

got interesting.

Apparently Fox told them to make the first half of the season stand-alone episodes. Look where that got them. Fortunately they realized their mistake and told the producers they could go back to arc-based.

The latest episodes have exponentially increasing amounts of Epic Win!

Definitely getting much better.
• Too bad there's only one ep left in this (last?) season.

I totally flipped when Spoiler: we got evidence Weaver was good (or at the very least a separate faction), even though I called it the first ep she appeared.
• So, Spoiler: no comments on the fact that Derek caught a bullet to the head in the first 5 minutes of the episode, or that he's just *boom* gone? Doesn't make much sense after the action-packed Riley death, or Charlie's slow-mo hero death. I hope they will address the impact of that further (or just bring him back from the future--again--next season); given there's only one episode left, I dunno.

Didn't see that coming at all.

It was very dramatic but an excellent episode. I think the chances of a third season are slim but I'd be happy to see it come back if we get more like this.

Finally got a chance to catch up on the SCC season finale. I just noticed something funny. After seeing the new ST movie and thinking about how Enterprise didn't take advantage of the endless possibilities of time and inter-dimensional travel and how the competition isn't sitting on its hands. You've got Lost and SCC travelling through time. Fringe doing the inter-dimensional travel. It just proves that you don't need ST to do great scifi.

Any news if there's going to be a 3rd season of SCC? I looked at the official site and there is no word yet afaik. Apparently SCC is quite popular with the fans, so there is still hope.

With all the stuff that happened, I have a hard time figuring out where the show is headed, especially since it's unclear who the bad guys are. If I got that correctly John Connor got to meet his older self in the season finale, as well as the human Cameron. That will open some interesting possibilities.

Anyway, I hope the suits still see the potential of the show and will order at least another season.

Interesting that I meet a girl that looks like Summer Glau in a bar right around the corner. Very mysterious, also the bar tender looks just like the "Precipitator" I had in mind when I imagined the story (If you read my blog)

John Connor didn't meet himself in the finale.

We'll find out if there's a third season tomorrow.

Cool! I hope you'll bring great news.

How can you be sure? He kind of looked like an older John Connor. I thought they looked like as if they were related.

There isn't.

Show got canceled.

Don't know why I bother watching good TV.

SPOILER:

That was his father, remember when Sarah was shot she hallucinated him? Also IIRC Kyle says something about "That's my brother's coat, and you are about to meet him."

Not that it matters anymore :(
• StingrayStingray Elite Ranger
I was going to suggest that he would be his father.

Well, that sucks, if that's Fox's last word. :(

I had a bad feeling about it when I saw Derek getting shot in the head like that. In my book that's usually a classic exit strategy for a character to leave a show on relative short notice. With a new Terminator movie coming out, I can't see the logic in this, because I don't see Christian Bale flop at the box office. He's on a winning streak. They would be well advised to stick with this franchise.

I would also like to see more of Summer Glau, she's a babe, the cutest terminatrix around. :)
• WORFWORF The Burninator
They haven't ruled out a mid season return, so they may revive it if the movie is successful. I'd love to be a fly on the wall of the fox execs when the new movie starts raking in the cash.

It would be nice if it came back, but the time slot it is in is bad news. Even if they just did a 13 ep run and wrapped it up that would be cool.

Watch dollhouse fail epically without Terminator as a lead-in.

I think I read somewhere that FOX said the show won't come back, no matter how good (in making money that is) the movie turns out to be.
• In Fox's defense, the first two thirds of the season was utter crap, at least compared to the last third.

I watched it knowing that eventually the writers would be allowed to write arc-based stories, and because Summer Glau was in it. But it really was pretty terrible. The only good episode in the first half was the one where they killed Chromartie, and even that had some pretty wacky, fractured storytelling.

I agree that quite a few episodes were a bit lame and that the show contained a few characters no one really cared about but were dragged along for some reason.

I have a theory, strong women don't seem to be quite as popular as one may think. You can say SCC suffered from Joss Whedon's curse.

Personally, I didn't care for Jesse Flores (Stephanie Jacobsen), the Hong Kong babe with an Aussie accent. I suppose that's no surprise as the character wasn't meant to be likeable. I didn't find her motivations very credible. On the plus side she killed off another annoying character, Riley Dawson (Leven Rambin). I'm sure both actresses did their best with the material handed to them, but they never stood a chance.

The other characters were quite well designed, the creepy Catherine Weaver and John Henry/Cromartie stood out of the crowd.

Yet it seems to me the show was designed for an epic fail.

This is why we can't have nice things. :(
• WORFWORF The Burninator
Riley was more interesting to me before they made her be from the future. I was wondering how she would deal with learning about the terminators and Skynet.

Well from what I have read, Craig @ SciFi has some interest, but hasn't discussed it yet with the rest of their high-ups. They are too busy with their branding to talk about TSCC :D

• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
I think the TSCC "resistance" has their priorities wrong. They're stomping around talking about how important vfx and editing is, but seem to be somewhat weak with concern for the real critical point: writing quality.
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
Not to mention a somewhat odd idea about what neural networks are capable of (or possibly what they even are).

I could possibly be an activist in TSCC by running up to everydoor in the yellowpages where a Sarah Connor is located and try to find the real one.

I know there is one in the town of Babylon and Melville there must be thousands of Sarah Connors in the city.
