Finally got a Wii, game suggestions?

FreejackFreejack Jake the Not-so-Wise
So...I finally got a Wii (an early b-day present from the wife).

So far Sports is great fun, and its really neat to have a game system that my 3 year can truely interact with. Button mashing is not her strong point, but failing about wildly is, which seems to work well for boxing.

Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions of fun games for the Wii. I am looking for games that make good use of the controller.

Here is the start of my list to get:

Rayman: Raving Rabbids
Lego SW

Any other suggestions?

Jake

    Mario Galaxy

    Lego Indiana Jones

    Worf

  • Mario Galaxy
    Twilight Princess
    Metroid Prime 3
    WiiPlay

    Mario Galaxy for sure
Raving Rabbids 1 is awesome but 2 sucks
    Peter really like Metroid
Mario Kart is cool (and we can play online!)
And Wario Ware is also awesome
  • I second Boom Blox
And as already stated, Metroid Prime 3, Mario Galaxy, and Twilight Princess

I also enjoyed Resident Evil 4, having never played the Gamecube or PS2 versions, deffinetly not for the little one though.

I just finally got ahold of Wii Fit Last night, and so far it is farily entertaining as well, and deffinetly a decent light workout.
  • I agree with all above; also, Excite Truck is a really fun racing game...very arcadey, but good fun!

My wife and I have been doing a Wii Fit workout routine...she's lost about 7 pounds in 2 1/2 weeks, I've lost about 6. Considering her bad ankles from Cross Country back in HS, and my back problems from a college injury, it offers a good lower-impact alternative to running (and it's more fun!)

I second the Resident Evil 4 suggestion if you don't have it for another system already.
  • Wii fit is fun. I quite like the free step where you can watch tv and the instructions come over your remote.

Rayman is also much fun. I find 1 to be more fun if you're playing alone where 2 is great for a group especially one with mixed abilities as the games are short and often scored in a random fashion.

Really it depends on what you're looking for. In terms of having a couple of drinks with friends and being silly then Mario Kart and Mario Party are a lot of fun where Zelda and Mario Galaxy are fun solo plays.

Metroid Prime 3 is a good choice if you have played through the past two Metroid Prime games. Of course it works as a standalone story but you get more out of it if you have played MP1 and MP2.

Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess. You cannot really go wrong with it, it is a bloody good adventure game.

Okami. Sure, the brush controls need a bit to get used to but once you master it, get ready for a long, excellent, humorous and emotional adventure game. I haven't finished it yet and I have already played it for about 25 hours. So far I'd say it is even better than Twilight Princess...
Also the soundtrack is absolutely stellar.

Rock Band if you have several people who play!

Heh, I've been avoiding Rock Band/Guitar Hero cause just I don't need yet another addiction...
