Christian Bale + Terminator = ?

Dunno if anyone already knew this, but Christian Bale's been confirmed for playing John Connor in 3 new movies. As much as I like him, after T3 I just cant see this doing anything other than sucking

    Seeing how the Sarah Connor Chronicles turned out, I can say that if you don't set your expectations too high, this may turn out ok. Bale is certainly capable of contributing to reset the franchise if this turns out to be another fresh start...

    The material has much more potential and does not really require Arnold et al to be part of it. As much as I enjoyed the original cast, the TV series showed that you don't need to stick with just a few known actors to get into the subject matter.

    meh, it should be good enough with Bale. I'm not such a huge fan of the Terminator to really care even though I really like the first two.

    Given his career to date Bale has rarely been in a bad film. He always plays his roles very well (and for a Brit plays a Yank very well). Maybe he has slipped up with this one. Who knows. I'll probably watch it but I doubt it will be top notch entertainment.

    You mean, that it continues after T3?

    From the character list etc that is known from the movie.. I am thinking/hoping/dreaming that they sort of exclude T3 from the history, and continue 15-20 years after T2..

    Technically, no. It picks up after the Sarah Connor Chronicles, which apparently ignore T3.
