iWon't get one!

StingrayStingray Elite Ranger
I'll get TWO! (I'm kidding) At least, I can't get THREE, according to Apple, two per customer is the limit.

So did you get one? Are you getting one? Could you care less?

Since I'm one of those 100-buck phone users, the iPhone isn't really inside my price range, so Apple won't miss my business. I don't have a single of their products anyway (and tell everyone I don't, just to get even with every mac user on the planet, because they think I care that they are mac users, because they keep telling me they like macs and that I'm just jealous, which I'm not. ROFL! Steve Jobs is like Bill Gates, just different.) and I don't plan on starting with the iPhone.

Well, I was going to post a poll, but apparently I wasn't fast enough... who set the poll posting time limit to 5 minutes? I want names!! 5 minutes is not enough for people who are awake when they should be sleeping. :D

heh, my answer is "couldn't care less" because I got the nokia n95 atm.

I can't wait for the iPhone to come out, just so articles about it will stop cluttering my news pages.

It's a phone. A cool phone, but a phone. It's not going to change your life.

More trendy rubbish. I'd have one if it was free though :D.

I just want phone and SMS. That is all I need.

I love my Palm Treo 680... so no need to get an iPhone.

The iPhone looks really cool but I don't have any use for it. I make very few calls and I don't use any of the other features on my current phone aside from the occasional text message and the alarm clock. OH! And the calculator. :D Bluetooth, camera, mp3 player, GPS? Unnecessary. My next phone is going to cost about $30 with a two year plan.

I'm tempted by gadgetry, but I like the small size and comfortable form factor of a traditional clamshell. If apple ever offers up a clamshell iPhone, victory is mine.

Actually, it could change your life, plenty of people have been mugged for their ipod's.

Once it arrives in the Uk and gets picked up by Vodafone I'll be interested for sure. Upgrade price will probably be high but I may bite the bullet. They may announce a iPod Nano version of the iPhone by then. Makes sense to offer a smaller less expensive version down the line.

I'm with Sanfam for the pure nifty gadgetry of it, i'd like one, but i barely use the phone i have now.

I had a Samsung clamshell once and it was cool, but right now I'm back with the Nokia candy-bars... until they get clamshells with the battery life of a candy-bar, that's the day I might go back to one, but until then I'll stay with the el-cheapoes. What good is a cellphone if it keeps dying on you because you forgot to charge it like 3 days in a row? I mean, there are phones that'll last you over 10 days on stand-by and when you do think about recharging they are out only one or two power bars.

And as with features, I only make calls or send messages, that's about it. I didn't mind being able to load your custom MP3's as ringtones but it's something I got bored with quickly too.

I'd rather get a Wii... or two. :D

I'm still waiting Mobile WiMAX (IEEE802.16e-2005) phones... probably available next year. But before that I have to get a new ultraportable and Intel's Metro concept sounds very promising, as it's the thinnest laptop ever created and has potentially 14 hours of battery life.

After the debacle with my iPod a few years ago, nothing is going to persuade me to get another apple product. I think I might get a new phone at some point soon, but I dont really know what I'd get

Maybe in a few years when the harddrive space has gone up enough for it to replace my iPod. I actually don't make that many cell calls, so I'd mostly use it for the media player and the internet.

    iPhone is AWESOME!

I mean, a 320x480 resolution display! DOOD! I can almost make out words at that res!

And a 1.3mp camera! Thats PERFECT for facial recognition!

It's Locked to AT&T too, whic his just so totally AWESOME since I love mega-conglomerate corperations that eat your money and don't give a rats ass about their customers! (Just like Apple! Which is why I love them!)

Oh Oh! And it has a touch screen! It's Awesome!

And they put this sensor in it, so it knows what orientation the screen should be! It's just like my Canon digi-cam, but remarketed so now it's cool!

    And it's ONLY $600!!!!! SWEEET!

Wow, A2597, some sarcasm dripped out of my monitor and is oozing across my desk in a neon pink puddle.

My Treo700p is on a faster network, has a touch screen, and cost me less than half of this Apple overhyped piece of trendwhore bait!

    iPhone? iDon't want one!

well, talking about cellphones, here's something some people did. It's a phone that has an motionsensor in it, so someone wrote a application for it that plays lightsaber sounds when you wave it around. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBAE1n9utSI

So I assume the computer you're typing this on is made of tree bark, is running Linux, and that you've renounced your support for the G.O.P.?

Well, here's the deal. The iPhone has a higher resolution screen, Wi-Fi support, full audio-and-video playing capability, over a hundred times the harddrive space, twice the talk-time and costs less than your Trio did when it was brand new. And I'm pretty sure the touch-screen is better, too.

Thank God we can still just write it off as being "trendwhore bait," then. Further, I'm so glad to finally know I'm a trendwhore. I thought I'd just had good experiences with the Apple's products as compared to those of their competitors for the past two decades, but now I know I merely ache for the approval of my peers through the types of gadgetry I buy (but then why did I buy from Apple before five years ago, when they weren't "trendy"?). Tell me, are cars of Japanese design also "trendwhore bait"? I simply must know whether my automotive preferences are similarly shallow. I had thought I had legitimate reasons for preferring those, too, but apparently I'm just too stupid to tell.

I built my own PC, buying parts from companies I rather like (AMD/ATI/Cooler Master)...and...yes, I do use Linux. :D

I think we are all victims of marketing and consumerism in general here, in one shape or another.

It's amazing how they can come up with the must-have items of the year. It's just amazing... and the pace is picking up, PS2, xbox, ipod, xbox360, Wii, PS3, iPhone... toys for big boys and girls.

Imagine a day when they hype a gadget like this and nobody would buy it? :D

    Yeah, it scares me too.

I love my iPod. Then again, I got it for free. It was a Christmas gift from Sanfam's father who gave everyone in the family an iPod. Actually, I got it free TWICE. Some internal mistake led to me receiving a check from Apple for the exact cost of my iPod including tax. I still haven't figured out how that happened.
My whole life I've been dying for music in a small, weightlessly portable form because I take a lot of walks with music. Unless some mp3 player proves to be much higher in quality than the iPod, I'll keep updating this one every few years or so. As for the iPhone? It is somewhat tempting only because I'd never be bored on a long trip with internet, camera, music and phone all in one, but I won't get it until it's gotten better and a lot cheaper.
  • croxiscroxis I am the walrus
I should get an iRiver because of the ogg/flac support -- something that is very much lacking with iPods.

Oh Dave, using tree bark would still kill the tree =P

    What IS an iRiver anyway?

    Then came x: x box, x chat, x games, x incense

And now it is i: ipod, iMac, iShoelaces
