I've heard about this. I have no doubt that visually it will be equal to the original masterpiece. The original writer is writing the sequel so there's a chance it might also be as good. But I'm not really sure it's needed. So I'm cautiously optimistic.

The new movie or the writer?

Biggles perfectly explained why I'm not sure how I feel about it.

The fact that so many of the original people are involved can only be a good thing, but without the original directors, and given that the original was a complete story, concerns are unavoidable. That said, however, I've found that a sequel to something that was a complete story is usually better than a sequel to something that was done with intent (or at least hope) of a sequel happening.

Agree :) . I thought it would be a prequel to the original movie. That might work, maybe :D .

Unless thought out in advance, prequels to something are likely to be far more destructive than sequels, because they can very easily destroy established back story.
• Yea, look at Episode 1-3 of Star Wars.... yea they looked great... but damn it lucas why did you have to change how the story was told! And why didn't you make it technological history correct! Damn you! DAMN YOU!!! :shadow1:

I'm with Biggles, cautious optimism is the order of the day.

I've always liked Genndy Tartakovsky's cartoons, and the elements in Jack and Clone Wars show he can add drama. Sounds like one of the few sequeals that is off on the right foot anyway.

There's also talk of a sequel to Labryinth, they already did a "Return to Labyrinth" Graphic novel.
