Computer sickness..

I appear to have infected my computer with the flu..

And its dead. Actually, its the hd thats corrupt. Probably need to format it, but Ill test a few things first. Needless to say, Ill be gone a few days. Later! :)

    My graphics card died yesterday. It was so sudden without any warnings and it was so young, only 1 month old. It didn't really like Oblivion and died on me. Most likely due t overheating so if you people ever get a Geforce 8800 gts and it runs around 70C idle with good ventilation be carefull of overheating. Because from what I've read on forums some people have them running on like 56C idle - 80C load, while others have 70Cidle - 90C load. Mine ran at 70C idle with the side of the case off. So seems like not all heat sinks are as good attached to the cards as some.
    I just don't like it that it didn't give any sign of overheating before it broke, like artifacts or other graphical glitches.

    Oh well, hope you have better luck with your harddrive messiah.

    That sounds pretty weird, C_Mon. I reckon you might be right about the heatsink not being attached properly, if other people are getting much lower temperatures.

    Anyway, It was less of a problem than I thought. I installed Win xp on a separate drive, and chkdsk took care of the problem for me. :)
    I reckon the whole thing started when I accidentaly cut off a power cable during the whole flu thing week.

    Problem fixed, Im back. Muahahaha!

    Kinda. I have some real evil home appliances. This one was a lamp, and I was "adjusting" it..
