Old russia is far cry from rome buddy. Take a look at everything they did. Was Russia at any point Democratic in nature hellz no. At least rome had a decent administration and legal system Russia just brute forced everything. I.E. Cossacks learned the best lessons from their Mongolian overlords back in the day. While the Brits were forming the magna carta the Russians were still squabbling over territory. Kievan Russia was the heart of the Russian Orthodox till the Mongols sacked it. Then you have the Mongol wars they kept getting into. It took them nearly 200 years to escape enslavement and those lessons translated into tyranny for the next 600 years!
