What a load of BS.
I didn't even bother reading the rest....
Browsers are only used for so much anyway.. ;)
IE 6.0:
You probably don’t know what a “browser” is and you think Internet is IE. You have no clue about technology, and you are generally afraid of computers. You also use your machine only for IM, chat, email and myspace. Your friends keep telling you about that “Fried Fox” thingy but you don’t really understand this stuff and never really had time to look into it.

And I think he's calling Firefox users, open source hippies. :D
Spooky.
[B]I use Opera, and that description fits me perfectly.

Not really much delusion in that, Opera is better in many ways. And having tested all the main browsers (And still occationally using firefox 2.0 for testing) Opera definately stays as my main browser.
Firefox offers nothing to me that Opera does not have, and most of what I need are done better in Opera.
Few pointers:
-Opera is faster, both in loading and in rendering. There are tests to support this, but one can "feel" it quite easily just by using it.
-Opera is the only one of the "big" browsers that passes the ACID 2-test.
-Opera has an enormous amount of features integrated into it without the need to add any extensions.(adblocker, mouse gestures, speech recognition, spell checker, etcetc.) Still Opera is smaller and faster then Firefox without any extensions.
-Those features also usually work better then their Firefox extension-counterparts. (Like mouse gestures)
-Custom skins and "widgets"(operas version of extensions) are also available if something extra is needed.
Dont get me wrong, Im definately not a Opera "fanboy".
I deeply despise useless loyalty to one brand or product, but having tested all the current browsers thoroughly, Opera is clearly superior for my needs.
Should Firefox improve itself to be better then Opera or another competitor proves itself superior, Im more then willing to change my browser.
But for now, Im using Opera.
As for my history, I used Netscape (ug, I hated Netscape 4.x, but it was still better than IE at the time!) until Mozilla came out, then I used Mozilla until Firefox had established itself and worked out it's bugs. Then I switched to Firefox/Thunderbird.
Hot Metal: Safari 2.0 has also passed the Acid 2 test.
Those numbers are probably not telling much. Most browsers are included with the OS you install on your comptuer. Most people probably can't be bothered to install other software, as long as it works for them, they won't switch.
I'm a former Netscape user... so when Firefox appeared, I dropped IE like a hot potato. ;) I haven't looked back since. As long as I'm happy with Firefox, I don't see a reason to switch to something else.
I used Firefox over 6, I just felt that IE 7.0's tabbed browsing is easier to work with, and i like the search box that does not require it's own whole toolbar, though that may also be in firefox, i can't remember. I just think MS actually did a good job on this particular piece of software.
WTF are you on? That tabbed system is annoying. The "help" menu is off the screen by default becuase they didn't leave enough room. The whole interface looks like they grabed blocks and tossed them into a bin, and wherever they ended up was where they put the component.
Further more, while it makes huge strides on compliance over 6.0, it is still very un-compliant to the standards, and most of the website bug fixes that fixed 6.0 break in 7.0 becuase they fixed part of the bug but not all of it (generally just the part used to make it work in 6.0). One better example is the JavaScript on my work's website crashes 7.0 currently. It crashed it in beta 1, it didn't in beta 2, and it did again in beta 3.
Overall, from both a developer and user view, IE 7.0 is definately not yet an improvement from 6.0. I'm sure it will get better, but it still has many bugs.
