LOL before someone gives the real translation lets come up with our own!

Ok, here's a guess:

The bird yells "bird flu" causing the other birds to shy away. He is then scolded by the owner.
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
My guess was the bird was pretending to cough ("achoo").
• ArethusaArethusa Universal Cathode
Clearer.

The babelfish translation certainly loses the mood...

No!

That's not very funny at all!

You hear me!?!

Having ski? LOL!
• Correct Translation:

"Achoo"

-

"No."

"This isn't funny."

"Have you heard me?"
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
Woo! I was right! :D

Don't you recognize sound of sneezing from coughing?
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
In English, "achoo" is used for both. Stop being pedantic. :)
• croxiscroxis I am the walrus
No, in english achoo is just for sneezing ;)
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
Well in NZ it's used for both.
• croxiscroxis I am the walrus
Must be that whole hanging upside down all the time thing.
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
As the accurate maps on this page clearly show, it is not us who are upside down.
• croxiscroxis I am the walrus
No, I'm still right side up. I'm standing right here! Well more sitting. Last night i very much felt like i was upside down.
• E.TE.T Quote-o-matic
Sorry, huge majority of land mass (and human population) is in northern hemisphere so democratically north is up.
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
The physical weight makes it down.
• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
I think the case for those maps being correct is nullified by the site having "The Upsidedown Map Page" as its title...clearly indicating that NZ is inferior and faces the way the rest of the universe's maps say it does.
• croxiscroxis I am the walrus
Fine, someone figure out the physics direction of spin (not me its 7fuckingam) and that will be up. Also true magnetic north is near the south pole =P
• MessiahMessiah Failed Experiment
They have an entire site dedicated to rotating maps 180 degrees in paint?
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face

It is? You mean now, or was in the past?
• ArethusaArethusa Universal Cathode
It isn't right now. It flips every million years, roughly, if I remember correctly.

[edit]

Shut the fuck up, Arethusa. You were only off by two orders of magnitude. Last flip was about 800,000 years ago, which makes a hell of a lot more sense than 10,000.

Yay Northern Hemisphere! Where summer is June, July, August, and most of September... as god intended. ;)
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
There's something nice about being able to spend your new year's holidays at the beach. :)

If you want to swim just make hole to ice.
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
Addendum: "without freezing, possibly to death."

1) I'm usually drunk on New Years, so the tempature rarely factors into my plans (nor does reason or good judgement). :D

2) See #1... Besides, where is your sense of adventure? ;)
• croxiscroxis I am the walrus
Actually magnetic north is at the south pole currently because of the direction of the magnetic fields (measurable with how charge particles interact with it).
• StingrayStingray Elite Ranger
Every kid knows Australians drive on the wrong side of the road. :p :D (and so do others but it's funny nonetheless)
