Help me pick a new name

My name is Steven.
I am not a Steven. Never have felt it's my name, and I never have felt any real attachment to it whatsoever. My last name is a hyphenated disaster, a linguistic ball and chain that has caused me no end of problems. I have no real attachment to either side of my family, nor either of my two ethnicities. And, with luck, I'll be moving in a month or two to California. So here it is: I need help changing my name.
I've been thinking about this for years, now, and I've yet to find anything I can truly settle on. Caiden is probably what I've taken most seriously, but it's getting more common, and, of course, nothing is any good if other people like it. See example A for definitive proof:

This is clearly a problem. I've also, recently, almost seriously been considering Apollo, which is at least enjoyably bold. Don't know if I can quite take it seriously, though, and there are of course allusions and connotations it carries that I'm unsure I'd want.
I have a good idea of what I want as a middle name, but feel free to toss up suggestions.
Picking a last name has been hell. Culturally, they're family names, and I've got rather little of that and no real connection to it, which makes it quite awkward. I suppose it's the kind of place one would be tempted to shove a literary reference, but I've found none suitable, and not much else has seemed to fit.
So, I need a new name. Within the next two months. Go!

Loke is a good name, if youre a trickster. Though, it is probably not a good idea to take the name of a god. He might get mad.
Thats why names like Thor-björn, Thor-sten etc. are popular.
My real name is James, but everyone calls me Jamie. I find both pretty boring to be honest. I'd much rather go by one of my middle names, Campbell. Its more unusual sounding:)
But MY personal favorites are:
Alexander
Nathanael (Or just Nathan)
Jaden
But that's just me... :)

To be honest, I wouldn't know a good name if it hit me in the face. :) It's different for every person, too.

One of the things I look at are the names of people I've met and admire or names of characters. I'm also fondof the name marcus and would consider naming a daughter Deleen or Andromida (her nick name would be M31 yuck yuck yuck).
Another place to look is at celistial names. I think it would be cool to have the name of Orion. If I remember right Egyptions said that he was well endowed. You can woo the ladies with that story!

But, that's just my opinion.
Personally, I'm willing to deal with that if the name means something to me, personally. I've felt stranger, really, about the ethnic implications of certain names. For example, if I took a Japanese name, everyone would wonder about my lack of Japanese heritage. If I took Lee as a first name, however, no one would wonder about my lack of English heritage, despite both coming from distinct ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Lacking attachment to any of your mixed ethnicity makes this a strange exercise. Names are so often about identification with groups, and it's a hard paradigm to work in when you can't.
I've got a rather borish name now.. (Boromir.. that could be another good choice?)

The first name is more or less untranslatable, but the surname is koivu=birch kangas=cloth/fabric.
So, basically, birchcloth. Not a fancy name.

[B]While I'm a big fan of unique names (at least unique in the US), those of you who do not live in the United States have to realize that Americans, in general, are ignorant about "different" names. Yes, some of the posts here were jokes, but by and large, to have a unique name in the US can lead to a lot of eyerolling and or dumb questions (Who's idea was that? Do you like it? Did you ever think about changing it?, etc.). If you don't mind that, then more power to you, but my experience has shown that people can be ignorant and down right rude when it comes to something they have never heard before.

Though, on the subject of mythology, I don't follow sports or speed skating, so when I saw Apollo Ono first mentioned a couple weeks ago, I had a sinking feeling that he had ruined any possibility of using that as a name. Not that he's a bad guy, or anything, but you do run a serious risk of everyone thinking of you as that guy with the same name as that skater.
I've always like Ulysess and his sons name Telamicus. Not sure how to spell that one. Could be Talamicus? Anyway I've not come across anyone with these names today.
Did anyone ever watch Ulysess 31 the old japenese animation? Anyway he defied the gods of Olympus and was lost, only not at sea but in space. Went to different worlds to try and get back home.
Or you could be named after one of the Teletubbies.....Tinkywinkie, Dipsy, Lala or Poe. Hehe soz was watching them earlier with Chloe, least no-one else would have these names. Then again you may never have had the Teletubs your way. (kids prog).

Btw if you like fantasy type names you could do a search on certain films like Dark Crystal. I forget their names (character) but am sure you couldn't get more original than these and others.
Seems an injustice to the balance of the universe to change it now...
