Seems they are rather smallish compared to earlier games. [/B][/QUOTE]
That's where mods come in :D
Maps were designed to be smaller, yes. Or at least gameplay designed to be larger. I imagine there will be a mod soon which will attempt to "shrink" cities a bit. or expand the landscape. the B5 mod is going to need massive maps, so we'll have to see how that works out.
The maps were made to be smaller because the transition to 3D rendering consumes more resources. Also the gameplay was restyled so it would not suffer from smaller maps
While I've got no idea what pitbull refers to, I'll assume it means a specific form of gameplay or a method of communication in some way related to Civ 4 :D
Hell yeah! I see no reason we shouldn't. Of course, *cough*, someone will need to set it up. And my internet connection is far from stable... *cough* And I don't think radiusco can do it.
Anyone else getting strange crashes, like the picture freezes, all units and land disappear, and only blueish, like water is left? Then you cant shut it down, u have to reboot the computer...
Hasnt happened early in the game tho.
civfanatics.com and apolyton.net are two places to investigate
It looks like that Take2, the publisher, moved the releace date up by one month on firaxis, even tho the game sufferes major graphical problems on many systems as well as some memory leaks. It has been confermed that Firaxis has now begun working on a patch to fix many of these problems.

It's a pity Firaxis couldn't self-publish. They have a guarenteed market and sales, so it wouldn't have been too bad for them.
The memory leaks occur pretty random, as long as its really far into the game. Ive had it happen 2 to 3 times PER GAME.
Some graphical issues from time to time, and I gotta say, take two is a bunch of damn retards, the promotional video they did for the game would definately NOT make me want to buy the game.
To hear now that they are reason for a sub par release... idiots.

You know what makes it worse? They're publishing The Elder Scrolls IV, too (which has been pushed back to next year now, making me happy). I find that one particularly odd given Bethesda has self-published before.
I've been salivating over this game's release for a while, but when I heard about the problems some folks with radeon cards were having I decided to hang back. Mine's a Radeon 9800 pro. Anyone with radeon cards having problems?
