I know, I know; I'm sure everyone here's seen it, and seen it long before I did. I finally got ahold of the series yesterday, not expecting much. After all, the last show I watched on strong recommendation and critical acclaim turned out to be poorly written, exploitative rubbish— a warning to ye all: that'd be the L Word— and Firefly was being recommended by people who like Stargate, so I wasn't exactly expecting much.

Suffice it to say I didn't go to sleep last night, and finished watching it early this morning. God[i]damn[/i].

    I've seen a little, but I think it's just OK so far. I'll wait until I've seen it all to make my judgement though I guess.

    yep, I only just recently watched it for the first time myself. Good series, too bad it got canceled, but hey they got a movie out of it, and it was quite good.

    However Spoiler: Them killing off Book and Wash was extreemly shocking and they didnt give Morena or Kayle enough to do, they are both way too damn sexy to stand around and do nothing.

    Messiah, Out Of Gas, that ep is one of my favs, comes later on. I hope youre watching them in the DVD order and not FOX airing order...

    Well, um, then they might be in wrong order, but I won't get into that any further since it's not...appropriate...

    If you saw a 2-parter as Pilot, you're on the correct track, if you saw something with a train, then you're way off.

    Ok watched the pilot- definately liking it. The suspension of belief was more difficult because of the meshed setting, but I really like how it is something different. Characters are interesting, and cant wait to see where things go. Oh yea and I love the idea of the marauding bandits- cant think of their name right now. But I like it, maybe when my life calms down Ill get to watch a couple more episodes.

    I "think" the maurading bandits you talk about are the Reavers. They are quite an interesting bunch, yes.

    Indeed they did. I remember watching it when it first aired, and aside from the "kicking the guy into the engine" scene, I didn't really care for it as a first episode, and it put me off of the series.

    I'm catching up by watching the SciFi airings, and by the end of the pilot, I already really liked the show. I'm personally convinced that if the show had aired the pilot as the pilot, they would have found a much better following.
