What is your mobile?

Lord RefaLord Refa Creepy, but in a good way
Just curious.. Got my brand new Samsung SGH-E730 today and starting to get the hang of it.. pretty nice.

Although I will have lots of trouble with it being so ridiculously small.. Old Nokia 6110 fit to my hand perfectly..

Anyway. What mobiles you people have?

• The Nokia 3310 phone with the default blue cover, a classic of it's time. I've got it for 4½ years now and I won't buy a new phone until some not too pricy (less than 500 euros) model comes with Flash-OFDM and/or WiMAX compatibility. Of course it won't be a simple phone anymore...

My phone is a couple of years old now. It's a Samsung SGH-S308. I like it, it's just the right size.
• I hate cell phones so goddamned much.
• had the same 3310 with the blue cover for a very long time. pretty much had to change since it wouldnt display long text messages (it would display half of it.. fun if the message cuts off all the time  )

recently got a nokia 6030, apart from the fact that there is no way to hook it up to your computer (the plug and play connector seems to be a hoax) i really like it. one of the few phones without a camera and all the other fancy stuff
• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
Audiovox CDM-9950...previously ran an Audiovox CDM-9500, but it abruptly died after a nearby lightning strike. Seems like it can irregularly start, but not enough to make it terribly worthwhile.

Now I have no phone. *sigh*

I have the LG 325 slide phone, which is allright. I like the bluetooth headset, thats really why I bought it. I end up talking on it the most one of two places, either driving down the road, or with my head stuck in an electronics cabinet, the wireless headset is great in both places.

Its got a camera on it Ive used once or twice, took the dumbest survey from sprint recently on how I use it. (Do you send pics to your friends for fun?? I couldnt find the "fuck no" answer)

Nokia 8260 with prepaid cards.
• Sony erricsson z500a; using the PC datalink cable, I've modified every navigation screen and banner with a custom Babylon 5 theme...the external screen has the Psi-Corps symbol; inside is an Omega and a Starfury exiting a jump-gate with the EA symbol on the top banner; browser screens are a starfury blueprint (white on black). BSG miniseries theme for my ringtone, Armageddon theme for when my wife calls.

but I have to replace it, I broke the screen whilst climbing a wall

It's an excellent phone though.
I have only 1 gripe: the address book seems a little flakey

Nokia 6600.

Total waste of money.

samsung D500. not a bad phone, quite cool, but compared to my old Nokia 6610i it just feels a bit flimsy

Nokia 3100. Low-end high-end phone (pun intended) without the useless camera but with all the other gimmicks. The only game I play with it is Puzzle Bobble, though. Blue gaming covers too... saw them on sale and I just had to buy 'em. :D

Great for roaming around in dark rooms without a flashlight.

I used to have a Nokia 6150 for years and years, but when I had to tape the battery on for it to stay where it's supposed to and not cut power, I thought it was time to buy a new phone. The only problem really is that they are too *******-spanking small nowadays just as Refa said.

SonyEricsson T630. Best phone Ive ever had. But Im gonna upgrade to the W800i this spring.. :)

Nokia 6230.

Bluetooth is must, no need to hassle with cables which always end up being in complete knot, also connection to PC works well through it... and using internet through it.
Other reasons were price: one the cheapest phones with Bluetooth meeting other requirements, like reasonable operation time (partially because it doesn't have so big screen)

well, i've replaced my broken k700i with a p910i
• Hmm been thinking about setting up an internet connection in my car using my mobile. Is it possible? And what kinda bandwith do you get.

This is of course going to be somehow hooked up to the mini.

You want one of the Japanese phones then. I never saw a phone in Japan that was stupidly small; they're all a decent size. They could be smaller (like my samsung is) but then they'd have to drop things like the incredible screens. Observe: http://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/product/index.html Just keep clicking a phone till you get to its detail page to see the size. Typical size is 10cm by 5cm.

I haven't tried how it works on move but I suspect stormchasers have done that for long time. ;)
At least they use it lot while being stationary.
• so we are talking maybe about 20 k download speeds?

Not too shabby I'd say for a mobile connection. I'd tolerate it. But I'd be happier with around 100 k then I'd probably be able to play WOW in my car.
• BigglesBiggles <font color=#AAFFAA>The Man Without a Face</font>
Connection speed varies considerably depending on your service. It's difficult to judge how fast yours would be based on one in europe. :)

You could play WoW...but with a ping of 200-400. Not fun.

I borrowed one of the silver ones for a while earlier this year. They're very nice to look at and to hold, they have an excellent screen but the OS is poor in comparison to other brands (IMHO).
