I only really noticed how big a part the music played after I got the soundtrack. I had oodles of fun pointing out all the times at the beginning of season 2 when Boomer's theme would play and she wasn't around.

yeah i just saw that on Gateworld.net. I had a hunch that they'd be bringing it back.
SG1 seems to be picking up again now that they've got rid of Vala, and not a moment too soon IMO. another episode of her and I'd have been ready to scream! Tho i just found out she's supposed to be back for a couple of eps at the end of the season:( oh well, at least there's Atlantis and BSG to balance it out:)
Incidently, I've just started watching Lost. Its just started showing on TV here, but I'm so addicted to it that I've had to jump ahead and aquire it by 'alternate means' :D
Also, I thought the last SG-1 episode was good! You know, the Ori and all that. The enhanced nuke, woah! That episode was like sweet candy, it's not good for you, but it sure is fun. The one with Baal was pretty comical. Yeah, office fights 4tw!
ShadowDancerWhen I say, "Why aye, gadgie," in my heart I say, "Och aye, laddie."London, UK
ive said it before, but im liking Atlantis more and more. Sg1 just doesnt have the appeal to me that it once had.
anyone else have a smile at the end of BSG this week when the music from the old series played?:)

yep, loved that.... since they've established in the miniseries that it's the "national anthem" or something similar, it makes sense to hear it there

Did anyone notice how the old theme song slowly crept into the modern music starting several minutes before until it fully morphed into the original one :D
So anyone think Xena is a a sharon type Cylon in BSG that doesn't know it yet? I kinda picked up from the beginning that there was something off with her when Duala was giving the tour of the ship. When they get to the CO2 scrubbers and they are explained how they work and how important they are she tells the camera man to make sure to get a good shot of them. When she turns around the camera man turns the camera down specifically to not get them on video. She asks if he got them and he says yeah sure while making a face like what possible purpose would that serve other than to expose a weakness. It was one of those pretty brilliant few second scenes that says everything if you are paying close attention.

I couldn't wait for the end of the episode so i could jump here and write "Did anyone else catch the Original theme".. but they had do go ahead and play a full blown orchestration of it ;)

You may be reading over-thinking that scene. My interpretation was that she was just being sarcastic - she was on the ship to get a story, not to do a stupid walk-through tour. She found the tour to be a waste of time and so asking to get a good shot of the CO2 scrubbers was just a bit of humor. Just my 2 cents...
ShadowDancerWhen I say, "Why aye, gadgie," in my heart I say, "Och aye, laddie."London, UK
that was my impression as well, that she was just being sarcastic about it
That ending totally rocked. I never expected it for a second (Well, I never read any spoilers unlike some of them saddos at TrekBBS who complain the episode was boring...). We also got to see something we haven't seen since the miniseries - The Sharon model seemed to be "in charge" during that scene.

Yeah that looks like sarcasm on the surface but there was probably a bit of seriousness behind it. The camera guys reaction certainly seemed to be a bit more serious. I don't know, his reaction just looked like he did not appreciate it. She could have been looking for potential weak spots to do something similar to the "Water" episode. She is a cylon after all :D

I agree...I expected something similar as to the Babylon 5 episode where a reporter is making a story about B5 and cutting it into something totally different.....
6 Cylon humanoid models spotted, 6 left to go. We now know Six, Sharon, Doral, Leoban, D'Anna, and the Caprica doctor. I don't know about you but I have a feeling some of the remaining unknown cylons are going to be some of the characters you least expect like Tigh, his wife surely is at least.
BTW, Tigh is now officially my favorite character after that scene with the gun on his face. He's got a bigger pair than Starbuck :D
RubberEagleWhat's a rubber eagle used for, anyway?
I'd say Dualla is another Cylon. At least what she said to Adama, that brought him to reunite the fleet, was imho totally out of character for her....

Its certainly possible and she's a perfect candidate. Gaetta is another posibility. He's kinda weird. I know there must be someone in CIC who is. Going all the way back to the mini series it was never clearly established who put the cylon transciever in there. Baltar blamed Doral to save is ass but it was never actually explained how it really got there. Could have been Boomer although she's a pilot and probably doesn't hang around there much unless called for. I feel like Baltar, I see cylons everywhere. I bet he even sees them swimming in his soup :D
CIC is busy though, I'd imagine someone who is on the maintenance crew put the device there. I mean, a CIC officer is going to look kinda funny putting that there? And don't say "well maybe he picked the right moment when no one was looking." - How can there be a right moment in such a room? Maybe on the Defiant, but not on that kinda control centre!

Maybe all of CIC are cylons! So it wouldn't look suspicious since they're all in on it! All the CIC personel must be purged and blown out an airlock! It's the only way to be sure!
I don't see it as unlikely that such a thing could could be placed there undetected. There's many moments when he's likely left alone, minding his own business. plopping it onto the ceiling could be done in a single motion of the hand, and he could just wander on as if nothing had happened.
Galactica was a Museum before the Cylon attacks, they wouldn't have had tight security and CIC wouldn't be that busy so anyone could put the device there.

It wasn't a museum yet, it was converted into one and it would have "opened" after the decomissioning ;)
still, security wouldn't have been as tight as on a "real" battleship... not after they shipped of all the amunition...

At the time of the pilot I understand only one of the landing bays had been converted into a museum. The rest of the ship and CIC was still in military operation. Security was pretty loose though.
Anybody see yesterdays episode? That didn't seem to make any sense. The humano cylons wanted to protect Sharons baby last episode. Then they send an all out attack to annihalate Galactica with Sharon included. Its starting to look as if the humanoid ones have a different agenda or at least a secret one to that of the rest of the mechanical cylons, imperious leader, or whoever the hell else makes the big cylon decisions. The ending was a sweet surprise. Payback bitch! :D

Who knows what the cylons plan....maybe loosing 100 ships is okay for the greater goal
RubberEagleWhat's a rubber eagle used for, anyway?
Taking out Galactica surely would help them, as it would be much harder for the people of the fleet to detect cylon agents.
Wit one strike, most of the people who had contact with cylons, and the "cylon detector" would be taken out...
You all make the assumption, that Cylons want to take that fleet out, and wants them to die... Maybe its something totally different, like leading way to earth.. Maybe there is something that they can not overcome.
If Cylons would want to take BSG down, they sure would do it easily. If there are Cylons on board, why arent they active? Why they are just travelling with them, its hard to think they travel just because they want BSG to be destroyed..
No, there is something more going on...
Some spoilers ahead for last episode, 2x9 if I remember correctly.

Thank god the president is going to die soon, hopefully they do it quick... She is the worst person on board Galactica, I wonder does anybody really like her? I mean, she doesnt know sh*t about anything, a religious lunatic, just go already... If she happens to survive, my hope for better BSG is gone.. Same goes for Starbuck, but there is no threat on sight atm... Maybe I can live with him around, but the president.. seesh...
Seems that BSG is going for right direction, getting better and better.
