Just a reiteration of old news but at least he's consistent...:)

Yeah, I remember reading something similar from JMS about five months ago, how he'd like to work on something Star Trek to make it good again. That would be so cool.
Personally, I only like the original series and some of TNG, and most of the movies.
• They should do a Star Trek in which they find out they have been in temporal stasis for 20 years and that's why nothing changes from one episode to the next... ;)

A good story arc using the Star Trek universe would be great, but I don't know whether the powers that control it have recognised that the lack of stories has caused Trek to be cancelled and that is their fault. Last I heard they were blaming the fans for having 'Trek Fatigue.'

Fatigued of the same scripts maybe...

Fatigued of the stifling of creativity on the show...

I don't think that the audience is suffering from sci-fi fatigue as evidenced by the recent success of Battlestar Galactica, Dr Who & Star Wars. If they provided us with good storylines that are well acted with characters that we can care about then Star Trek would be a good setting to put it all in.

In the case of the recent Star Wars films that last sentence was not applicable.
• Agreed... I reckon that Battlestar Galactica is the best example of good sci-fi running at the moment - at least to my taste.

I wonder what would have happened to the new Star Wars films if they weren't Star Wars...

Wonder how Dr.Who will be next season without Ecclestone...he's perfect for the job :(

Not sure. My initial reaction to the new guy was "Huh? what a wimp!"

Maybe he has a big personality, we can only hope.

A friend of mine had her own concerns: http://www.mcgahy.com/2005/06/christmas.htm
