You know, someone might just take him a bit more seriously if he'd remove all the thinly veiled conspiracy theories and remove the pop culture references. There might just be enough rational thought there to warrant a serious scientific hypothesis (and oh how I wish it were true), but his message gets so garbled by the crackpot website that it looses any credibility.

In reality this is likely a case of truth (that the phenomena happened naturally) being stranger than fiction (that it is an artificial entity).

As far as I'm concerned, it's a pair of asteroids that smacked together at low speed, and they are still in the process of becoming a sphere due to their combined mass. As to all the other stuff, well science is still learning about all the neat processes that occur in space which is a lot different than here on Earth in an atmosphere.

I used to have a lot of respect for Richard back when he wrote "The Monuments of Mars" book, but even then it was all based upon only (2) data sets from the Viking Orbiters, and the resolution was only 1km per pixel. Not to mention the massive amount of post-processing by algorythms.

Now days, because of his association with psuedo-scientists, and new age mystics, I can't take anything he says serious.

Guess the short story is I agree with you Freejack! ;)
  • sry but i think the sat has enough different .... things to be tested or scaned ...and so on and with only a very little change on cassini orbit.

so we can have better photos, radar scans and so on....

of course its only the surface but with more data NASA can prepare a mission in the next years to go there....(if they want).

we always have problems with mars.....why not then other places?.

    Less gravity...less movement problems....

And for the author....if some1 here has for so many years so many problems with NASA ...for not being......"typical"...or "normal"....do u really think u will be more "seriuos"? or u will be more radical?.

Moray and Newman for example had guns for most of their lives and moray sufered at least twice assasanation attemps.

Graham Hanckok has the same kind of problems with.."debunkers"..a bit "idiots"...and its being persecuted for his ideas...(in the universities).

i spected other kind of.....mindset here but.... at the end ...............
