What do you mean? I just tried it and its fun!

The controls are a bit fiddly but they can be changed.

actually, I've been following this one, looks to be the first GOOD lego game.

I HATE this cross promotional overbranding crap. Lego used to be so good, so much was left to the users imagination, there were so few pre-fab/pre-formed parts, you really did have to build something with lego.... now... its all branded, themed and 'storied' to the point where the kid using it doesnt have to flex thier imagination much at all...

...it's no longer about critical creative and constructive thinking... now its all about frikkin Harry Potter and playing in Lucass' sandpit...

kids today.... *shuffles away on his zimmer frame*

I'm with SB.

*Goes back to playing with his 1960s mecano set.*

hey, don't get me wrong, I loved legos for pure creativity, but as a game, I think this one looks OK. :D It's a new look for them. Everyone complains theres no more creativity out there, and when someone does something creative, they get blasted. *Sigh*

I agree with both sides here; that lego has become way too 'dumbed down' and 'fad-of-the-week' style , but also that this is one hell of a game.

It's just fun, dudes. It doesn't take itself seriously, and it's got some great multiplayer. Personally, I can't wait to get this thing for the PS2.
I mean, if C-3po gets damaged, he loses limbs and ends up hopping along on one leg! It's just damn cute.

And the little 'metal gear solid=no' moment at the end is hilarious.

While I hate what's happened to lego over the past decade, I think this game is a damn fine idea and probably hell fun to play (haven't got the demo yet). I've been waiting for the demo for a while.

One thing I've noticed lately is that Lego is starting to return some of the build-anything-you-can-imagine kits rather that the highly specilized, put-three-parts-together-and-have-a-fully-operational-space-station kits that you see now.

SB: That's what Technics sets are for. Specialized parts? Toss 'em out! I've had quite a bit of fun making mechanical systems in technics. The pinnacle of which was a 3-cylinder pneumatic engine that, though slow, was pretty decent at pushing a *ton* of weight (I got it to easily haul 6 lbs across the floor)

I wish I had enough parts to complete one of my long term rpojects....a lego six cylinder engine.

I ran out at three. :/

I still say you can't beat 1960s mechano sets. I have up to set 7 (inherited from my dad), and you can build some amazing things with them.

I still have box loads of the real legos...Haven't touched em in god knows how long

HOLY FCK!

DAMN NICE JOB

How long did it take & damn how is it still in one piecE?1

That's the $300 set a group of friends bought me as a birthday present last year. I keep it high up on top of the entertainment center where the kids can't reach it.

Construction took about 12 hours of build time over four days.

It does not get moved very often for obvious reasons.
• WORFWORF The Burninator
Impressive. Most Impressive.

I can still build a Connie with 12 peices. :D

Although my more impressive things came from building houses with them, with lights and all. Or the robots/spaceships I built. :D

But you know what? KNex offered a different kind of creativity entirely, and you could make some darn cool stuff whith em. :D I still have an EF2000 I made with KNex, with working missiles and interna bomb bay (Which, I know, is not a feature of the real one)
• Eek. I've got gallons of Legos, haven't touched them in years. I got out of it when they started making everything themed and branded.
• shadow boxershadow boxer The Finger Painter & Master Ranter
I lurve Lego... if anyone has any thats surplus to thier requirements let me know..:)
• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
I'd also *gladly* accept spare LEGOs. PLEASE!

Oh, you don't have any?

Sure?

Really?

Could you check, maybe?

Oh. You made sure they were gone? Damn. Sure they're gone?

Oh.

Please?

I used the flat lego pieces and made the Enterprise-E, a miranda class ship and Voyager but its engines can't fold up.I made theses years ago and they have a nice layer of dust on them and they are a bit dirty as well. All my lego is piled into a small box.

Fak off nobody getting my legos!

I miss the pirates set damnit! the canons could fire little canon balls, and the little muskets! they rocked!

I also was a big fan of the mideval setting, I had like three differenct castles and I was slowly just collecting more and more mideval knights and soldiers.. the little horsies were just to damned cool! :D
• A2597A2597 Fanboy
I have sharks, one WORKING cannon, the rest dont. :(

I personally LOVED the Robin Hood / medeval themes..

and yea, I too accept spare legos! I still have about 5 gallons worth. :D
• Lord RefaLord Refa Creepy, but in a good way
I used to build large space ships with all my legos..

Then something terrible happened or the captain went nuts and all the astronauts were killed. Every crewmember.

It was fun.

Like..

"aaah We're all gonna dieeeee" "CRASH"

And then mum would yell at me to pick up the fucking pieces or i'd get a beatin' i'd never forget.
• croxiscroxis I am the walrus
My bro and I actually made a space lego combat game, and I even got a first draft to a space ship combat game.

We took pictures of a large battle a few years ago, I should put those up sometime.

Seems like everyone wants spare legos but wont give. If you seriously want legos, I suggest going to garage sales.
• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
I made some pretty neat ships with legos. However, I always ran out of parts before my ideas could be realized.
