It's doubtful that they will *MAKE* any more games. Their direction seems to be Publishing, although this last event has many baffled...
You know what will happen, about 2-5 years down the road, some new executive will come up with the brilliant idea of starting a new development studio and parade it around like the best original idea since sliced bread. Then they will hire all new developers who will have to relearn all the lessons we all knew the answers to, and get into fights with the suits to get anything done and shipped.

On every forum that I have seen to date, people have been coming down on this rumour (Sanfam even came down on me for closing the rather pointless 'what are we going to do... ?' thread over on mods.fo about this) - it seems somewhat lacking to take this apparent state of affairs to heart from a very unlikely source, with no means of substantiating the rumour...
... Relic are in negotiations with Sierra over the [i]licence[/i] - and have said as much in a series of very public releases. Given how close they've been to their communities I find it hard to see why people would think why they would allow someone else to announce some apparent 'news' on their behalf.
Grrrr... it's the most obvious of rumours, and I can't believe that so many gullible people have been taken in by it, especially given the swiftness of the response.
