I would bet we had (and have) plans to invade every damned country on the map, just in case. Don't want to get caught off guard should someone unexpectedly declare war upon us. Just like those reams and reams of plans on what the government is supposed to do in response to just about any disaster you can think of, and several more besides.

This is unrealistic. Guerillas don't live in cold climates...

Some people are the antithesis of gullible. Others, like Simmonds, somehow combine both the antithesis of gullible and gullibility at the same time. Not sure how this is possible, but we can observe Simmonds and see the result.

    ;)

Yeah, Jack, everyone knows that guerillas only live in the French-speaking parts of Canada. ;)
  • RhettRhett (Not even a monkey)
nice simmonds :D Haha Im sure that we still do have plans to invade/repulse attacks from just about any and every country. They have to keep the intellegence services busy somehow.

Shure is. If I remember correctly from history the French Canadians used guerilla tactics against the Bristish.

Also once you get up into the Canadian Shield there are alot of places for ambuses and traps. Also its prity hilly and lots of nice places for Sniper attacks and Javalian and T.O.W. missile attacks on armour units moving threw the area on the roads. Also the Commflage the Canadian army uses is very very effective. But one problem is that in some areas of Canada the Terrian is very very very Flat.

Also, if the US was going to invade it would be for our Beer Supply, in that case the US army mite have to deal with massive Mobs of armed people defending the beer.

I like Canadian Whiskey, and don't mind paying for it, so I doubt we'll be invading any time soon... :D :p

a good beer depends on whether its in a pint glass or a can. admittedly there are some that just tast aweful, but id rather drink beer than spirits, tho ive gone in for some ale's at the moment.

surprisingly ive also gone in for wine as well. only red tho, i cant stand white as it gives me a headache

I love it, these documents are from the US army war college!

My father is a graduate of its sister school, actually its prepratory school, the Command and general staff school.

I hate to tell you, what your looking at is somebody's final exam :D

senior officers go who are being tapped for achieving flag rank, IE they are on their way to being generals.

They come up with stratgies and plans and even game them out in large scale, as part of training.

Plan Red existed since the late 1880's at least, if not longer, and recieved periodic revisions to keep it updated

Also these continancy plans are usefull. Plan orange was folded almost completely into the "Rainbow" plans post 1940 when it realized that a war of alliances was on the horizon.

Slight explenation, the orginal "color" plans invisioned a war between america (Blue) and a single party, IE Orange, red, or combinations, such as crazily enough Orange AND red.

the later "Rainbow" plans take into account that ther could be various alliances of friendly forces and enemy forces.

hell, the origins of plan red involved a UK landing force near washington D.C. which stayed in the plans till sometime post WW1, even though the military realties in the world post WW1 made such an action nearly impossible! :D
