Poll: What's your favorite B5 ep?

Vertigo1Vertigo1 Official Fuzzy Dice of FirstOnes.com
Mine would definitely have to be the one with the Drazi casts fighting. Second being the one where Ivanova has "sex". Downright hilarious!

• Aye, those two are great!
However, I've given up watching invidiual episodes. I tend to watch it in 4 to 12 episode blocks. So I can't really comment on individual episodes, I'm afraid.

All I say, is watch series 1-4, then the final episode. Magic.

Ok, if I have to pick, the battle with warlock class EA ships, where Ivonova gets terminally injured.... and the rest of series 4 to the end, then the final episode.

Damnit, I can't decide!

The Warlock wasn't shown until ACTA. You're talking about the Omega-X ships.

Oh, BTW, I'm going on a two week holiday tomorrow, so I won't be able to watch B5 nor post here. Just to let you know that my sudden loss soon after starting to post isn't your faults!

Back to the topic, I'll expand my range to the planning episode prior to the big firstones battle in series 4.

Severd Dreams, because it was such a turning point in the series.

Sleeping in LIght because it contained many of the most poignant moments in recent TV history(at least for me, anyway).

• Coming of the Shadows, that has everything you would ever want. Kudos to Andreas Katsulas and Peter Jurasik for two of the best performances I have ever seen on the small screen. Especally (Season 2 Spoiler warning)when G'kar offers Londo a drink when Londo knows he just started a war. Brillent drama.
Also "Long Twi;ight Struggle", "Severed Dreams", and "Endgame"

• I'm going to deviate from the usual favourites, and toss out what I consider to be my three favourites.

In no particular order:

* GROPOS
* A View from the Gallery
* Day of the Dead

Granted, there's hardly any episodes I didn't like, but those three always stood out to me due to their outlook and views expressed. GROPOS for putting a face and a name to the brutality of ground combat, something always glossed over, especially in ST. With the notable (and brilliant, IMHO) exception of DS9's The Seige of AR-558. (Please, no B5 vs. DS9 debates, we all know B5 is the best

A View from the Gallery ranks up there just due to the pure brilliance of how the story was told. I found the premise weak, at least for B5, but it was told in such a lovely way that is rarely ever done. As for Day of the Dead, well I take it that most everyone can understand why I put it up there, it did help that Lochley's encounter hits real close to home for me, I remember watching that episode and thinking "wouldn't it be wonderful if that could happen?"

Carry on

PS: Yes, I still come around here
• I think Passing Through Gethsemane is one of the most powerful hours of TV I've ever seen. Extra remarkable is that such a core Christian struggle was done so well by an Atheist. My hat goes off to JMS for that one.

Another favorite is Face of the Enemy. The strobe effect as Sheridan spins around and the music, etc....just plain magic. I felt his betrayal like it was my own. Incredible direction there.

And finally, I think And All My Dreams, Torn Asunder (that's right, Season 5). The speech Sheridan gives, condemning everyone for condemning the Centauri. Wow. Acting, writing, and direction all in the right spot at the right time.

There are many others of course...can't wait to collect on DVD.
• I agree about face of the enemy, the bar fight scene was great... my favorite episode as far as ironic comedy effect however has to be "The Rock Cried Out, No Hiding Place" lol I just loved watching Refa getting thrashed on by the Narn with the gospel music in the background.. very satisfying to see him finally get his due, and yet the scene just makes me feel mixed up emotionally... it's interesting to me anyway

I loved the enemy ships in * A View from the Gallery *.

I hated the (Men from Saturn) uniforms of the enemy though... too much like Flash Gordon to go with such incredible ship designs...

Favorite eps are "War Without End" and the other two parter that had Sinclair back for a short period and involved Babylon 4 yet again. Forget the name of the episode...

Hmmmmmmmm Have those on tape somewhere too...

Know what I'll be watching this weekend...

I loved A View from the Gallery. I thought it was great, because usually when they have these big battles around B5, you see what the main characters do. It was so cool to see what life on B5 is like for the small guys, like maintenance. To see them going through their day, doing the same jobs, not really worried about the battle because they know that others will keep them safe.
That is one of the great things about B5. Every now and then, JMS takes time out for an episode to show us something about the universe he has created we would not usually see.
I remember a TNG episode that tried to do the same thing. They presented three unknown ensigns. But they only way they could show how 3 unknown ensigns onboard this ship lived was by making the captain call them up then send them off on a big important away mission. Nothing like what they would normally do. JMS shows us what the people normally do.
