God this always happens.... I go away for a few days, get swamped with stuff at work, and something happens.
I've been dreading, again, the day that we would see another dissapointing post on the Firstones Home page. Oh this is sad.
Thanks Rick for all your patience with us and that goes to all the cool guys at Sector 14. We've had so much fun helping and bugging you guys for the past 2 years, fighting the good fight to try and keep this baby a float.
Our thanks goes to you and I wish you the best for the future.
It was, fun......

Thanks to all those who tried to revive the game.......it would have been the biggest hit in scifi-sim...........but unfortunatly Bull Rider won
I haven't been the great poster........but I have followed these boards and this game since the development
and I really thought that the game would prevail.........
So thanks to Rick and his crew for trying so damn hard....and I wish you all the best in the future.
And at last.......I can say F%&k you Sierra/Havas !!

I think that picture pretty much sums up a large part of how I feel. Of course, it does leave stuff out. Like wanting to kill someone who was involved with not selling the game to Sector 14 Studios when they did have money. And the people who ****ed it around during developement, in effect causing its cancellation in the first place.
But mainly, I just feel a great loss.
Thanks, Sector 14 Studios. To us, you will always be heros. Thanks for the memories, both good and bad.
Thanks also go to the developers who are not part of Sector 14 Studios, and those who did not come to Firstones.com from the Sierra board on that fateful day. The times on the Sierra board will always be among my most treasured memories.

Let's dance in style,
Let's dance for a while
Heaven can wait,
We're only watching the skies
Hoping for the best
But expecting the worst
Are you going to drop the bomb or not?
Let us die young or let us live forever
We don't have the power
But we never say never
Sitting in a sandpit,
Life is a short trip
The music's for the sad men
Can you imagine when this race is won?
Turn our golden faces into the sun
Praising our leaders,
We're getting in tune
The music's played by the madmen
Forever young,
I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever
Forever, and ever
Forever young,
I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever
Forever young
Some are like water
Some are like the heat
Some are a melody
And some are the beat
Sooner or later, they all will be gone
Why don't they stay young?
It's so hard to get old without a cause
I don't want to perish like a fading horse
Youth's like diamonds in the sun
And diamonds are forever
So many adventures couldn't happen today
So many songs we forgot to play
So many dreams swinging out of the blue
We'll let them come true
Forever young,
I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever
Forever and ever
Forever young,
I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever
Forever, and ever
Forever young,
I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever young

sorry I was so late posting, Rick.
I don't like to spread it around, but I am a Firstone, and I remember back in September '99 when you, Randy, and Grinner immediately took action when ITF was cancelled. You have been excellent to the entire community for trying so hard up to now. You and all of the S14 developers deserve our respect. Londo's famous qoute, "Stubborn Nobility" comes to mind when describing S14's and the entire community's effort to save ITF. It was a shame that it ended like this. However, "That which we are, we are."
God be with you.

But still the most important thing is this community you guys have developped. Although I haven't visited this place that much during the last year or so. I feel that firstones.com is truly something unique. Faith manages and I hope firstones.com has many years infront of it.

Hey, this Saterday is exactly 3 years since the launch of this site (well the B5 version of it anyway). I will probably make a nice post on the main page and give a little roundup of the last 3 years.
Take care all .. would have loved to kick some shadow ass in-game with you
Thank you, Lorien---for giving us a wonderful place to cultivate this community.

But, hell, this was only a game. Can't everyone go out and show an ounce of their dedication, devotion, and such, towards themselves? The human race? Knowledge? The future? Even decadent hedonistic happiness? (Even though, philosophically, it is a thorny area of thoughtening (new word, rhymes with shortening).)
Get out there and live, die, and, hell, make your words, deeds, loves, crimes, passions, hates, - even children (do we need many more of them? :) live on. Fiction lives on anyway, games live on anyway, they don't need our help.

Thanks for the site Lorien. It is like a second home. If you hadn't got it going three years ago, we wouldn't be here now.
3 years since Firstones.com started... about the same amount of time I've been around this game. I think I turned up sometime around when Firstones had just become the B5SCS fan site... a little bit after I think... it's too long ago to remember exactly. It's been a long road.

yeah i have found the site some time ago.The FirstOnes has a link to it.
Voisi jopa sanoa että suuri Bongikaan ei voi auttaa tässä tilanteessa.
I'm extremely sad to hear that ITF's being buried after two years of fighting back :/ I haven't been an active poster by any measure, but I have been keeping an eye on the going-ons in the form of a lurker. It's a shame.. a damn shame.
I wish the Sector 14 folks all the luck in their future projects. And if indeed Sector 14 remains, you are more than welcome to start / continue using my logo as your official symbol I have it stored somewhere on a CD.. And you propably have copies of it aswell.
Hey guys, no need to thank me. I am as a fan as you all, and we should all be VERY thankful to DraziGuy who truly kept the site alive.
Rick Well I was born as "Lewis Newman", but changed my name officialy 4 years ago (in my ID and passports) to "Lorien Newman" due to my 100% facination I had from the "Lorien" character in B5 series. Yes, I am that much of a fan of the show
My wife, who believes in the numbers behind letters, and what all that means to ones luck and success, had my new name checked and compared it to my old name, and the result was that my new name would give me A LOT more success and good luck in life, which also added to the whole thing. Since then I have had a way better life.
So this was no coincidence, it is actualy a direct result of the B5 series.
Since then people I meet all say I have a super cool name.. so I am happy
On behalf of all the lurkers active and passive, Thanks to all, for the contribution and above all sense of comunity and common vision shared on these boards. T'is a rare thing I think.
?How is it that fiction and some half finished code (no slight intended) can stir up so many people and emotions. I'm nearly as sad now as when I first heard the original canning by sierra, but not quite as sad as watching Sleeping in light.
Anyway, I don't think there are enough words or expressions to thank you or the rest who took up the torch after you for this community we have built together.
Man... A lot has happened in the last three years!
Good to see you again, and don't be so much of a stranger!
I know that the site is closing, but I'm wondering if there is any chance for a revival of the game. There was news that they were working on getting the game, and I wanted to know if there was a chance or is the site closing because the deal didn't go through to get the rights, code, etc.
Hey Jack thanks for the kind words. you know .. there would be no site or anything if it wasnt for your work and others .. we are just the messengers
Regarding the site: The site will ALWAYS stay open for as long as I live. I see no reason to ever close it.

There's a movie quote that comes to mind here for me to share with the rest of you.
No, it's not a Babylon 5 or JMS quote, but I think it is quite appropriate!

We make our own destiny, and it's time to build the new Babylon Station so to speak.
