We will get another game.
Now that the deal has indeed fallen through, perhaps you can tell us some of the previously classified stuff; 'who was the entity?' for instance, and what were the details of what happened?
Just remember:

Dedicated to all at S14 for what they've tried to do..
And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, I'll say it clear,
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain.
I've lived a life that's full.
I've traveled each and ev'ry highway;
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.
Regrets, I've had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.
I planned each charted course;
Each careful step along the byway,
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.
Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it my way.
I've loved, I've laughed and cried.
I've had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.
To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
"No, oh no not me,
I did it my way".
For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -
And did it my way!
What is going on with Sektor 14 ??? It 's a really great Studio. Rick, what are you planning with Sektor 14 itself ???
With great hopes

Well well, I'm sad. The fire is out. S14S, the whole crew, my best to you all. Thanks for keeping our hopes alive this far. Good luck in your future lives, and a warm thanks for being one of the most dedicated development teams out there to date. Dedication, that's something you rarely see nowadays.
As for FirstOnes, game or no game, keep it alive. I'll still be here, with thousands of others, no doubt. Keep it alive until Draz has too much financial problems to keep us up. You just have to love us bunch of whackos too much not to go out with a bang.
That's about all I can say right now.
"Good fight, good night."
Now where did I put that noose...

Life is full of surprises. The ones reserved for me usually come wearing brass knuckles.
RubberEagleWhat's a rubber eagle used for, anyway?
This moment quite reminds me of seeing the closing titles of the Sleeping in the light. Feeling sad, that it came to an end, but remembering that it was a great time, and im sure it'll still be
A big THANK YOU to all of you at Sector 14 Studios, and to Marc and all the other former developers, that you tried to bring us the experience of our beloved Tv-Universe to our PC.
You and your dedication have inspired many of us, some are now making mods, some writing stories, other making kick-ass renderings.
THANK YOU, allthough that doesn't quite express the gratefullness that all of us here are feeling.
But somewhere inside me i feel that, like it was with B5, this is not the end.. it might be just the beginning...
I'll be honest with you, I'm not much of a B5 fan. It was a great show, but I have enough obsessions already.
I've only been here a short time, but when I arrived here (through the mods forums, odly enough) my first thoughts were, "finally, a good flight simulator with real physics, an interesting and varied storyline, and different levels of control depending on what I do." After reading the FAQ, I realized that this is exactly what I had laid out as what I wanted in a sim, plus a few things I hadn't thought of. To this day I have yet to find a truly good space sim. As I love Star Wars, X-Wing Alliance would have been perfect with the following upgrades:
1)Speed and general physics identical to the movies (TOO DAMN SLOW!! WHY DOESN"T THE DAMN CAPSHIP MOVE!!! *BANGBANGBANG*...sorry)
2)Better graphics. The game was outdated when it came out, three or four years ago.
3)Multiplayer code that allowed for play with at least a reasonable aount of lag, if any at all
4)Everything ITF had to offer
I'm not even going to get into the other games I've played. Anyway, expect to see me hanging around the XWA and FSF forums more often, but I won't leave here. You see, I'm currently being restrained by a thousand inkstained monkeys...
Thank you for your efforts

I for one will be staying around until they turn off the lights and blow the place up.
I co-wrote our final statement with Rick. Most of what I wanted to say I said there.
One of the exceptional experiences of my life was working with the ITF team. Marc spoke well of this, so I won't repeat. But I’d like to add that the experience of watching the Firstones community come together is an equally exceptional experience.
It’s sad that ITF won’t happen, but we can look at it as a catalyst for something that is more important than a space combat simulator.
I’d like to publicly thank JMS for presenting the idea of community among diverse souls so compellingly, and publicly thank the souls who have made this ideal manifest in FirstOnes.com.
I'm glad that there will be an effort to keep this beacon switched on, so that others might catch a glimpse of the magic here.

It's all been said many times before (and better) but, I would just like to thank all the guys at S14 and the ITF team for trying so hard, it's been appreciated. I wish you all success with your future projects, and thanks to all the guys who keep Firstones a special place to be.

In times like thise we should never forget what we still have :
STAR TREK FOREVER
No , to be serious , I am impressed by Sector 14 studios.
I think simply the TIME was wrong. I would have waited for the next movie and the new series. They would have increased the desire for a b5 sim which would have helped you with your task. I tell you , sooner or later there WILL be something B5ish.
RubberEagleWhat's a rubber eagle used for, anyway?
There's an interesting thing in what Skullar sais.. something that was in the back of my head since i wrote my statement a few post earlier...
what would Rick, Randy or some of the other (ex-)developers do, if, lets say, in a year (impressed by the success of LR) a major publisher comes back to them and says "you wanted to do a B5 sim a year ago. Well, we've changed our mind and would like to support you"
If a major publisher does approach someone about building a game, then a game will be made. However, it will not be ITF. The ideas behind ITF, revolutionary in '99 and still very cutting-edge today, will probably not be as impressive by middle of 2002.
So if a game will be made it'll be a brand new game. There will probably be no video footage that Sierra still owns, the plot will be different... it's likely that a game will be published sooner or later, but it will not be ITF.
RubberEagleWhat's a rubber eagle used for, anyway?
yes.. i know that ITF is "dead" and won't come back
the point i was heading for is, what would Rick or Randy or anyone else from the team (sorry that i don't mention you all by name, youst thought it'd take to much space... i'm abit lazy when it comes to typing ) do, if they were approached...
I would like to thank you, the developers, for all you've done. You gave us hope, something to believe in, and in doing so, made possible the creation of this community.
Well, things didn't work out. It's sad, but life goes on. Good luck to all of you in your future endeavours.
Some day, we'll all get together and fly off in our Starfuries to the sun(set)
Until then, keep on full burn and watch your sixes.

Well, at least we know it's over now. The uncertainty of these past years was worse than the cancellation. It just wasn't meant to be. But Babylon 5 will not just vanish, if Star Trek is any indication, we'll see B5 again (which we will soon). After all B5 is more than the sum of its parts.
S14, thank you for everything.
Edit: I would also like to thank the staff and everyone else here on firstones.com for supporting this community. Special thanks to JMS for keeping the dream alive.

and now we have a New Movie, a new series, a whole new chapter, there are rumours of crusade being revived, and maybe a major motion picture in time.
Rick and Randy and the team may well have contributed more to B5 in thier efforts than making the game ever could, and i think we shall asll ask JMS to name a couple of extras in thier honour heheh (not red-shirts tho hehe)
