Winamp 5 is out

www.winamp.com/player/

Personally I'm still using classic winamp 2.8 and I like it just fine. Just wondering if anyone's tried this yet, if it's any good.

• Winamp works fine, and it came out a long time ago

Winamp5 came out like 8 months ago dude.

If you ask me, anything more than 2.9x is bloatware.
• I use Winamp5... it's probably bloatware, but I don't really care; it plays music. :)

Winamp 5 isn't bloatware, it's actually pretty damn nice. Now 3, that was bloatware.
• I LOVE Winamp 5!!!

worth is just for Digitally imported IMO. :D

Okay fine, quibble over details :) Winamp 5.05 just got released. Anyway my winamp hit me with an update popup message today, so I assumed it was new.

I still use WinAmp 2.75. Never had a problem with it...no reason to upgrade still. :)

I still use winamp 2 skins in winamp 5. None of the winamp 5 skins fit on my desktop properly.
• I liked the default one, and MM3...though everyone uses MM3...
• I use a nice Babylon 5 skin I found somewhere. :)

And sometimes the Chronicles of Riddick skin, just because it's preeeetty.
• Does Winamp 5 do taht cross fading thing at the end of one song into the beggining of another? They started that in three and I never figured out how to disable it, which is why I still use 2.something.
• There is an option, but it's disabled by default.

Well, 5.05 has been out for quite a while already too. I've been using it for sometime. Me nitpicking? :p

This is the skin I use and have been using for years already:

Stopped using Winamp the day ITunes came out for the PC. The very same day.
• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
I'm not going to debate players, but might as well pop into here and show what I've got... :D

• Hmm, never found that before. I really didn't like the whole starting one song before the lsaat song finished thing. it just didn't sit right with me. At least in 2.x it was disabled by default.

Actually, in 2.9x you had to disable it yourself. It was on by default.
• Hm, I must have a version even older tahn 2.9 even then.
• Winamp just bugged me with another popup: Security flaw affecting Winamp3 and 5
The vulnerability takes advantage of the Winamp Skin installer mechanism coupled with a security hole within the Internet Explorer browser.
Awww look at that. Another IE security flaw  Boy am I glad I switched to Mozilla. IE's got more leaks than the Titanic! Wait, I'm not even using w3, why am I even bothering??

How many still M$, how many?

Thanks for the info.

I've always used Netscape since I started using internet, but now I switched to Firefox a while ago and so far it's been great.
