Stargate Atlantis take 2

just saw the Scifi special on SG1 season 8 / Atlantis...

and amazingly enough, it might not be horrible. It actually has potential! Which is alot more then I gave it before.

It comes out on my Birthday, so the premire had better be VERY good.

  • Stargate - (O'Niell + Teal'c) + Explosions = No.
  • Be fair. In SG1, the rule is that, on any two-parter, something has to explode, what, every four minutes? They like blowing things up as much as the Farscape crew, and for the mini-series about to come out that crew used up all the pyrotechnics in Australia. If you don't believe me, go to scifi.com - in one of the chats Ben Browder and Claudia Black talk about it.

    Take out the + explosions.

I will be watching it :)

  • No, because it was something believeable. 4.2 seconds is impossible (unless we start having O'Neil setting off firecrackers during briefings).

Unless their talking about on average. And then it depends on if multiple small explosions put together each count as an explosion, of if the combined fiery inferno is only one explosion. Consider that, on most Science-Fiction shows, when a spaceship (for instance) explodes, in addition to the big-ass explosion enveloping it, there are usually several smaller explosions added in to help give a sense of scale. Thus, they could have only one thing blow up, but have however many hundred of individual explosions within that it averages out.

Or it was hyperbole. It could've been hyperbole. ;)
  • One of the producers/directors jokingly said that the rule was to have something exploder every 'four and a half seconds'.
  • SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
Well, if anything, the season premier held true to this rule, but was...a bit more concentrated :D
