• I'll probably be seeding all of monday during the day. I'll increase my ratio too so that i keep it up longer.

If you could seed on monday, I'll dled and keep it seeded for a few weeks. I've got 256Kbit of spare bandwidth :)

so far I've not had 1 byte off those currently seeding :/
• Mr. FuryMr. Fury Earthforce Officer
Strangely enough there have been those two seeds for long time, but they aren't seeding anything if there happens to be peers.
Well, I guess I can help you out there. :)
• CnlPepperCnlPepper Earthforce Officer
Cheers Mr.Fury, got the whole thing now! I've started seeding. My IP is the one reported as 80.42.98.*

Got it! Wow this is great music!!! Perfect for working out.

I purchased the short versions back when they were on liquid audio and I thought they were great - but these are awsome.

So - If these are the "Battle Themes" does that mean there is OTHER music out there lost?

I'm seeding from work right now. (Shhh... ;) ) Should be able to keep it going for a while. It also should be a nice fast connection.

Edit: I still kind of wish I could have paid for these via some legit channel to reward CF for his great work.

I've been wondering about that, too, Konrad. My guess is that there was at least a half-hour more music composed for the live-action scenes, although it's possible he never got that far before word came that there was no longer any reason to do it. I also think that "battle scenes" is a misnomer for these tracks; a lot of this music could be used for other things, like just normal patrols or strategizing from the RTS interface... damn I want this game finished.

And I absolutely agree about the payment thing; maybe we can take up a collection and send it to Sonic Images or something.
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
These "battle themes" are actually all made up of lots of approximately 30 second tracks mixed together, exactly how the game engine would have mixed them on the fly during the game. It's a very impressive effect.
• KonradKonrad Ranger
You can certainly pick out the 30 second themes - though they still blend well.

You may be right Biggles/Bekenn - however many of these tracks seem intense for just flying along patrolling, supporting a transport, or whatever. I admit it’s also a bit of wishful thinking on my part. It’s hard for me to accept that this might be the last, or one of the last, bits of “truth” we will ever get from the game. …Damn thinking about that has me upset… I’d better go listen to the music more.

Each time I listen to this stuff I like it more and more.

I really would love it if CF expanded on the 7:00-8:00 minute theme in the fourth track.

I love the way you can listen/focus on each “level” of the music. Each distinct level has its own character and power by itself. On the other hand you can listen to the full “depth” of it and just be blown away. That’s something I’ve always found lacking in “pop” music. What CF does is take the lessons of great classical music and put a fresh twist on it ~ so I love it.

I’ve tried to get friends to listen and understand – they just don’t seem to get it. However, not many of my friends like/understand classical music either.

Anybody else have some favorite sections?
• BekennBekenn Sinclair's Duck
Geez, that's a hard one to answer; there's not a single second here that I don't like. I really do think that the game music stands out above the vast majority of the show's music. I think there's more freedom in composing for the non-scripted portions of a game; you're not trying to match specific events, but rather the feel of whatever's going on, and so you can afford to take more control over the music and make it stand out more.

Let's see... I like the redux of "Dying Station" and the music that surrounds it; I like the theme that we hear about a minute into track 2 (which gets repeated all over the place in different moods; I absolutely love how all these variations on the same theme come together); I like the more tense music that starts around 3 minutes into track 2... gah, I can't just go through these tracks and pick out favorites. The plain and simple fact is that if any of these sections had appeared in the show's soundtrack at any point, it would have been a high point of that soundtrack.

Ah, geez, I just hit the transition in track two that occurs around 6:55. I absolutely love the way all these sections flow together, both in this set of tracks and in the ones we've had for a while now. Just brilliant.

And on top of all of that, there's the extended ITF main theme available elsewhere, which easily stands as the equal of any of the season themes. With music like this, the rest of the game had a lot to live up to.

And they sound that way in the game as well. The game's music system, as I'm sure you are aware, responded to what was happening at the time. If you were just casually flying along with not much happening, you'd get suitable music. If you were in the middle of a vicious furball, you'd get more intense music.

If I had to choose a favorite track, it'd be track 4. It has my favorite parts from F (ie, both of them). As for a favorite part: about 6:50 or so into track 4 where there's just the choralish bit with the guitar-like thing and the lone trumpet near the end of that segment.

I just love the part on the third track that starts around 8:10!
• HuntSmackerHuntSmacker Firstones Ambassador to Starcraftia
Some favorite parts:

Track 1 - At the end of a suite begins another at 4:10, thought it was a nice bit, esp the strings :)

Track 2 - I really like the way this one starts, also something here similar to the Season 4 Video track? I also like the dark descending piano/strings at 5:55 which builds into another suite, which wonderfully cracks off 6:55

Track 3 - The Horn/Brass melody (w/Drum/Timpani) bit here at 4:55 is really nice. I liked it in the clips and still like it now. I always turn that bit up. It sounds very valiant.

Track 4 - Some nice quiet string sweeps mixed in here with the soft bell hit, and then theres that suite at 6:55 which I think everyone loves for it's choral and guitar elements ;)

Track 5 - Another great melody which starts at about 10:00. I love those few seconds.

I've had the main title theme since it appeared on Thirdspace, and I never get bored with that. The ambient interlude at the beginning is especially nice, it seems very similar to the TV music. Infact the main title track is somehow more progressive than the rest of the score, I'm no expert but I think many of these "Battletracks" are no where near as dark as many of the TV scores. As stunning as they are, I'm afraid they don't have the same kind of desperation we got from the TV soundtracks. Still, they are excellent pieces of work, and well worth the listen for both working and relaxation.

I would love to hear this done live in a nice concerthall
• HuntSmackerHuntSmacker Firstones Ambassador to Starcraftia
I don't know.. I've always liked the unique acoustics of the Berlin Symphony Orchestra along with that special electronic touch. It's been a part of Franke's music since day one and hasn't changed. Somehow I think hearing it in a concert hall would make it sound somewhat empty - And does Franke have any compositions that can played in a concert hall? So much of his music is split into various suites that it's hard to pin down every one of them. Some of the extended suites (from this album, and also from the soundtracks, IE the Season 1 Extended theme) would sound great, I imagine.

The BitTorrent seemed to be struggling this afternoon ~ there was at least a two hour period where nothing was connecting or moving. (may have just been on my end - I'm not sure)

I'm going to be back seeding on friday early in the morning and hopefully all weekend on a high speed line for both the "ITF Theme" and "ITF Exteded" files. :)

Please keep that "Theme" file seeded ~ It screached to a halt at 89% and 45 seconds left.

It's really nice haveing this 320KBPS version of the music!

I've been to a Symphony concert where the Orchestra played live music in time with Bugs Bunny Cartoons that were projected onto a large screen. (It sounds corny I know but it was good fun and good music actually.)

Anyway, maybe the same thing could work with B5 music. Much of the electronic music could be prerecorded. Franke could improvise one electronic instrument and the real Orchestra could play live along with the recording being played.

I'd pay to see it - Shoot - I'd travel to see/hear that.
• HuntSmackerHuntSmacker Firstones Ambassador to Starcraftia
As I say - Not much of Frankes music is arranged so that it could be played live, but if he did, I'm sure it'd be pretty fine.

In support of Babylon 5, I have seeded both Extended and Theme available 24/7.

Would really like to see the other multimedia work that was created for "Into The Fire" either into an official B5 game or Easter Egg on a DVD collection.
• I vote for the Official B5 Game. You know, take ITF, revamp the engine to make use of modern harware.
• Hello, god this looks so bad, as I just joined and this is my first post and all, asking this. Could there be a reseed. I know, for a first post this isn't how it should be but when I saw the last post date of two days ago I just had to come here first.

I just have to say how much I really want to hear this music and if someone could reseed I would much appreciate it. Of course I'll seed afterwards.

(Acutally there is one seed for the Extended torrent, but I only got 1.13 mb in 31 mins, with an estimated 58 hours left. So thanks to whoever is seeding, but unless you will stay on that long then a few more seeds would be nice)

I used to just drop into the main site to check out any news and once and a while look through the forums, and this topic and release finally got me to join. (Bad yeah, joining to ask for something). But this won't be my first and last post, promise.

Anyway thanks for the time, and I hope someone will reseed.
Thanks,
Billhiemer
First time poster and B5 fan since Sci-Fi aired “In the Beginning”

P.S. Should I be using Azureus BT Client or is any of them fine?

Edit: Speak of the devil, someone started to reseed the ITF Theme torrent. Thankyou :)

Hi there,

According to my tracker, there are always 2-3 people seeding the EXTENDED and THEME files.

Anyway, if it is of any help, I will leave my lines open for the next 8 hours.

Cheers,
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
I've had to turn my one off for a couple of days as I've just about hit my bandwidth limit for this pay period.
• There seems to be nothing on the tracker.

I wouldn't bother anyone, but I had it, fell in love, but then lost it in a reformat :(.

Regarding if you have to use one client or not...

No, you don't. I love BitTornado myself...
Favorite client of them all. It's so simple, yet so great.
