Someone feed me Endgame and various other scores from MusicofB5 that aren't available anywhere. I can upload them and we'll live off that until the main course gets here :P
Come on, we are not talking about using his stuff and exploiting it commercially. We are talking about a couple of fans who want to enjoy listening to his material privately.
I am sure he has no gribes about his fans listening to his scores privately and not expliting it commercially. Like someone mentioned, he is a reasonable guy right?
Most copyright protection is there to protect against other people using their ideas commercially. If some guy sits in his own lil room and listens to unreleased scores by Franke, is Franke gonna really mind and chase you for using his material???
As for those who says that by putting his stuff into the public, it may be exploited, but hey, then Franke and his crew can go and sue those 'bad people'. Thats what copy right protection system is there for.
But considering he hasn;t taken note of your 'petition' from this forum so far, I don't think Franke would even notice or care.
Why don't you just post some link for the scores here for the die hard fans who really want to listen for their own enjoyment. What may happen in the future who cares. Franke doesn't so why should we?
Well, Franke never actually had a problem when MusicofB5 was running, if I remember correctly he wasn't bothered by the site. Since this doesn't carry much more weight over that other than the fact that they are unreleased, and note "unreleased", and unlikely to ever be.
However, has someone tried contacting JMS instead? I imagine JMS is opening up communication with Franke soon in regards to TMOS (assuming he is going to be scoring it). We could ask JMS to ask him for us. Impossible? Maybe, but you've waited this on this one for a long time already. Maybe Franke no longer has any official ties with SonicImages, hence the lack of response? If that, or some other reason is true, you may *never* get a response, unless you happen to see him in the street.

I tried talking to Joe Straczynski about this in person a while back; he simply suggested we should try to contact Chris. I suppose e-mailing Joe or bringing it up in the newsgroup is probably worth doing at this point.

Me, Mr. Fury and most of the TBP members. The whole package is on TBP FTP at the moment.

The file will be released as a torrent and I'll release the link as soon as I'm ready.

I remember that back when I first heard of Music of B5, I sent a message to Chris Franke to see what he had to say about it and never got a response. The site stayed up, so I figured he was giving tacit approval.
You want this torrent to stay alive? Then SEED goddammit, leechers who download the stuff and leave the torrent unseeded after it is finished are intolerable. Would be nice if you could have at least 2:1 share ratio (you seed two times the amount you download).
Well well, the torrent's been running over a week now and according to my tracker's statistics; 139 people have finished downloading the torrent, almost 40 GB was transferred during this time. Those stats are missing stats of first ~16 hours due to accidental reset of stats...
Anyway, looks like we're low on seeds at the moment. Those who have completed the torrent, care to help the community a while longer by seeding? :)
