from Gabe Newell:
We've already spent millions into this project, and we're willing to spend as much as we need to make this the best first person experience ever. If that means delaying the game to 2005, we'll do it without any hesitation. If it means sinking another $20 million into the project, we can do it. Rest assured, if we delay the game, it'll be only to blow your socks off even more when it finally releases.
when was Haf-Life 2's original release date? summer 2003?

and frankly, i don't see a reason to buy it in 2005 if they don't really upgrade everything...
(and, because i've been saying for quite some time that we'll see DNF before HL" comes out)

Well, at least they managed to name that Duke Nukem game right, because it seems to take forever to make it complete.:D
Look at it this way. If it's a good game and lives up to the hype, people will buy it whenever it comes out. If it doesn't, then it'll tank once the word spreads that it's a disappointment.
Funny thing is, the original quote could apply to either game.

That doesn't explain all the crappy games out there ;)

Well actually Half-Life could mean you have to wait half a life time before it is released :D
What annoys me is that it means that Vampire: Bloodlines will be delayed again and it is pretty much finished. Apparently they aren't allowed to release it until after HL2.
Worf

And that is the real tragedy. Bloodlines promises to be quite an exciting game.

Isn't that better than forever? :D :p

Vampire bloodlines sounds good to me! :)
Worf
better if they use the time to make sure it's absolutely bug free...
and maybe add some additional content :)
