Because it is a spelling contest. He/She who throws the largest pile of shit unto the other has won. Silly, but entertaining.
Spelling *and* grammar. Anyway, as with all things, exile started it. ;)

WOW. A disscusion on Spelling and Grammer.
•
Er, no they don't, as they were not part of the actual quoted phrase. The same goes for any punctuation marks, which uphold the stability of the sentence.

Morden
Exclamations points, questions marks, etcetera do not go inside the quotes unless they are a part of the quotation, but periods and commas do, regardless.
• Things that annoy me (in no particular order):

Writer's block
People who are in love with the sound of their own voice
A flu that just won't go away

if annoying and irritating means the same thing, why bother whether i use annoying or irritating? as long as the message goes through...
• MartianDustMartianDust Elite Ranger
Because your message didn't go through it was net picking on my comment and the way you said it!

I said "Language Police are irritating." You said
"Well, sorry then...but some of us find it most annoying. "
The point is both are the same and you had to pick.
• MessiahMessiah Failed Experiment
I believe you are both going on about different things...

Elaka Kakan should check up the topic Language Police...
• ElaKa_KaKanElaKa_KaKan Earthforce Officer
Suppose i should...
but i just HAD to comment on the fact that misspellings and such things ARE very annoying (and i choose to call it that)

then maybe you'll find this thread interesting;)

that is a really interesting thing, yes. a bit hard to read at first, but you get used to it.
it is also said that it is quite easy to learn to read backwards, as long as the words are written in that way.

What irritates me?

Why, simply because I've been dealing with it for a bit today, when people use an .exe as a file archives. So, rather than letting me decompress something in two seconds, like in a .zip file, I have to go on an odyssey of pain to get access to files because somebody wanted a freaking self-extracting archive, cross-platform compatibility be damned.

But it is quite all right, you see, because I can be a platform-chauvinist pain-in-the-ass, too. I think a few hours trying to crack a mac disk image should make my point abundantly clear.
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
As someone who has to go track down a windows machine so I don't have to reboot my own computer just to extract that damn self-extracting archive, I can agree.

another most annoying thing i've encountered is when people on the bus don't cover their mouths when they sneeze or cough. rather, they aim their foul breath of garlic and disease towards someone...(like ME...).
Kill them. Kill them ALL. NO MERCY!!

What really irritates me, is my fucking locker at work. That beastly thing!

Honestly.. This one morning again I was putting my jacket there and all, was real carefull not to touch anything, got my working clothes on and started to lock it. I got a damned electric shock from the key, could see a blue flash hit my fingers too. Damn it hurt.

Happens everytime. I mean, I get electrocuted by the damn thing when I touch anywhere in it in the morning. Sometimes my whole arm has gone numb from the shock.

It's friggin' irritating. :D

It's just certain weather and right floor material and clothes which are good in that.
In school I had same problem.
And in vocational institute I had to always touch table's metal legs to discharge it. (computers wouldn't like static electricity)
When voltage gets high enough that it strikes through one centimeter of air it starts to hurt more.

BTW, in one class we discovered very effective way to generate static electricity.
You just need normal lacquered wooden table and A4 paper.
Then start to rub that paper against table, after few minutes touch something metallic (or conducting) and watch blue lightning. :D

Been working there for nearly 6 months now. So.. hmm.. about 140+ shocks so far. :)
