I know this has been asked over and over so forgive my query... I have a few amazon book tokens and was considering ordering a few B5 books. Which ones are the best to get and which should I read first?
Falcon1, and don't forget about "The Shadow Within" by Jeanne Cavelos - a good prequel to the Technomage trilogy and fine book by itself. "To Dream in the City of Sorrows" is not tied to any other books as much as all trilogies and "The Shadow Within" are tied to each other.
;)
I'd buy the trilogies first:
1) Legions of Fire
2) Telepath Trilogy
3) Technomage Trilogy
That's 9 books already and I don't know how much you're wanting to spend. I imagine that comes to quite alot already but if you're wanting to get more, "To Dream in the City of Sorrows" is good (You see the Whitestar prototypes!) and then "The Shadow Within".
I wasn't too impressed with any of the other numbered ones. I'd recommend buying them as a last resort, if there are no others in stock only :D

1. To Dream in the City of Sorrows.
That's pretty good book to start.
But it's little short IMHO, reading it takes just little over day.
I guess Clancy's "minimum 500 pages" books have spoiled me.:D

Actually, I think it works better to read The Shadow Within and To Dream... first, simply because they're lighter reading. Also, it's definitely a good idea to read The Shadow Within before reading the Techno-Mage trilogy.

Aye, it is short; but that's mostly because the B5 tie-ins back then weren't really expected to sell all that well, so they were only allowed a smaller page count than the Techno-Mage trilogy got.
Comments
2. Legions of Fire.
3. The Passing of the Technomages.
4. Dark Genesis.
oh wait thats just in my mind.....
;)
IMO the PSI Corps is the best and the Centauri Prime the worst.
To Dream in the City of Sorrows and The Shadow Within are the only decent ones of the books #1 - #9

Agreed at every point.
1) Legions of Fire
2) Telepath Trilogy
3) Technomage Trilogy

I did not like the Technomage trilogy.
