    The newspro database broke. Badly. All the news vanished, and we can't add new stuff.
    But we're working on it. :) This could be the motivation we need to get a new script that does slashdot style stuff.

    a mix between /. and the forums.

    ala, ANY topic can become news. certain people can select the topic as news, and moderators/admins and change ANY topic into news. then the first X# of letters, or the entire post, is posted on the news page, where users can click on a comment button. :)
