  • Would help if you gave a bit more info about your setup, including which drivers are you currently using for you video card....

Have you also checked in the offcial site support section to see if there are any game patches that may help as well..Just a suggestion.

hm.. i *think* there was a 1.1 patch that adressed some graphics issues that in some cases prevented the game from running, but i'm not 100% sure..

or try to delete the gta_vc.set in the VC User Files-folder.

and did you try to start them with clicking on the exe, or via the start-menu?

another possible solution might be trying a no-cd crack, sometimes the copyprotection protects to good, so you can't even play with normal cds..

the gta_vc.set file was it! runs great now.
well...great in the sence that it runs...game has all kinds of glitchys in it, and I've lost track of which exe I installed the patch to...

    guess uninstall/reinstall and add patch...

    thanks!

Yeah, you might want to un-install the game. Go into the registry and remove any keys it leaves behind, and delte the directory. Then reboot and re-install the game, apply whatever patches you need to, then set it up the way you want. That way, its a clean install of the game, and it SHOULD be more stable for ya.
